Temperature probe.
I bought this as a cheaper alternative to a Thermapen one. I instantly regretted it because it takes 2 or 3 seconds to register the heat where the much more expensive one has an instant readout but I've just learned to live with the small delay. It is accurate, it's small, it switches itself on and off as you extend/fold back the probe, it's got a magnetic back so i stick it to my fridge/freezer for easy access. I don't know how I lived without it. If I had to pick four kitchen must haves I would say oversized chef tweezers, a half round silicone spatula/scraper, a potato ricer, and a temperature probe.

Awesome Tool - love these.
I've ordered lots of these for gifts and one for me. They work great. Fast reading. The magnet could be a little stronger but that is inconsequential. Easy to clean as well.

Like this Simple Meat Thermometer
I really like this thermometer for ease of use. Another thermometer wasn't working and I suddenly saw that I put it on hold. Then I was always pressing the button to change farenheit to c. So I really appreciate that this has no buttons on top. This came already set to farenheit so I don't have to bother with that. The battery compartment opens easily. The display size is large enough too. I bought thermometers when I started to air fry. Usually the temp is 170 or above so this seems accurate. If your thermometer reads 70 for chicken, there is a problem.

Purchased a few of these. They make great gifts. Easy to use and read. They're fast and accurate. Best you'll find at this price point.

A couple of instructions....
This is my second one of these. They work GREAT. The warranty is for 3 years, and mine lasted 4 before it failed. Symptom of failure was sudden and undeniable: when I tried to use it on something, the temperature reading was flashing and kept changing random numbers like 48 degrees to 189 to 400 to 72, completely unrelated to the room or any other temperature. I tried inserting a new battery but got the same result, so yup: it was done. I used that one between 3-5 days/week and sometimes several times a day, on everything from bread dough to meat to whatever. (Yes, I wipe it clean well between uses, don't be silly, lol.) A couple of instructions: This one came pre-set to C, though the last one came set to F. Not a problem... Just use a nickel to open the back, take the battery out (a partially opened paperclip works wonders to gently get that out), and use said paper clip to slide a tiny toggle switch from C to F. The battery goes back under a small clip first, then slides right into place. Use the same nickel to put the battery cover back on and boom, done. I'm looking forward to another 4 years of great use! I would definitely buy this product from this seller again, delivery was swift and product is exactly as expected.
