All 3 models are working almost the same as sound quality. The difference is the extras accesories in the model packages and PC compatible in the UC models.

How do I keep from closing the boom while in my pocket? Effectively turning it off.

I keep mine in my pocket when working in the warehouse. It connects so quickly when you slide the boom out that I've never missed a call. I just did a quick test and from the time I pulled the boom out until it was fully connected and ready to answer a call was less than 2 seconds.

When connected to 2 devices simultaneously, how do you switch between them?

it is automatic, the phone takes priority during a call over say your computer. if you are talking about between two phones then it would be like a conference call. I recommend answering the 2nd call without the Bluetooth.
