KNIPEX Tools KNIPEX 86 03 250 SBA Pliers Wrench,

At work, I often have to disconnect and reconnect fittings of various sizes on equipment manufactured overseas. I also prefer not to drag around a handful of wrenches, and I hate adjustable crescent wrenches since they either adjust too tight or too lose. These are a cross between adjustable pliers and an adjustable wrench, but unlike most compromise/hybrid tools, these actually inherit the best of both worlds. These have become my favorite tool. They can adjust to hold a wide variety of sizes, and because they grip like pliers, they work equally well on small stuff as they do large stuff. Sometimes it takes a little playing around to get the correct jaw setting for some size nuts in order to get a good rhythm down, but once you do they work really fast to remove stuff (I use them a lot on Swagelock fittings). They are lighter than an adjustable crescent wrench and much more versatile, but they are very strong. They only have two downsides: They are expensive. This is the most expensive hand tool I have ever bought. But I figure if I use it for years and years instead of buying a cheap adjustable wrench that I carelessly misplace after the jaw becomes loose and damages what I am working on, I figure its well worth it. The only thing they are not good for is breaking loose something very tight, and for irregular shaped parts. For that, I get the Knipex Cobras. They leave teeth marks, but they will grip anything and everything you can fit in the jaws.

Super easy to use as a slip wrech for quickly tightening or loosening fittings. The level closing of the jaws make them great for flattening/straightening/bending smaller or thinner pieces of metal. Great leverage at this size. The price is a little higher than some others, but my experience with Knippex is that they've always built high quality tools.

Where has this been all my life?! I barely if ever use my adjustable crescent wrenches any more. Also the size guide in sae and metric on either side are surprisingly accurate. Super convenient and easy to use with one hand when necessary

Knipex makes some of the best quality pliers, and these might be my favorite. I was sick of crescent wrenches slipping on me, whereas these lock into whatever size you desire. They are strong, and I prefer them to a standard wrench whenever I can use them. The smooth jaws ensure that they will not mar up whatever you are working on, and the surface finish has stayed smooth after many years of use.

This one is actually a gift. I’ve had mine for a few years and I use it regularly. So much easier than eyeballing a box wrench or socket for quick jobs. Never rounds or mars the bolts or nuts. It can take a bit of time to get comfortable with the sizing mechanism, but I really like mine. Solid German engineering/manufacturing too - no cheap junk from c**na. I regularly gift them them to delighted recipients

I'm so happy this type of tool was invented. I have Craftsman (old school, made in the USA) and Klein adjustable wrenches, and while those tools are pretty good as far as adjustable wrenches go, these piler wrenches knock them out of the park. You get nice clamping force, so no more rounding bolts, and it's much easier to use them overall. I already used them within a few minutes of them arriving on the project that was in progress and I'm very satisfied.

I avoid junky tools. When I want a tool to do the job, I choose a tool made by a company that makes a dependable and quality product. A job well done requires a tool well done. Most of my tools are either Knipex or Klein. Stay away from my tools!

Purchased these to PRESS a pin into a hole. They work GREAT for this. They do NOT move like channel lock jaws. There is no angle in their movement. the lower jaw moves up and parallel to the top jaw. Would work well to tighten/loosen a hex plumbing nut you do not want to 'dig into'. EXPENSIVE for what it is, I kept it because it wouldn't be right to return it after use, and it's really a good tool. IF you work with small roll pins, you'll love this over ponding on them for insertion.

Me llegó en tiempo y forma el producto. La pinza está bonita y tiene buen agarre, ahora si voy hacer ciertos arreglos en el baño sin dañar algunas piezas delicadas de latón o bronce. Además es muy útil para hacer otras reparaciones. Muchas gracias amigos de Amazon.

No comparison to my old offset Slip-Joint Pliers or adjustable wrench. The way the jaw opens and closes always seems to grasp the nut exactly parallel. Throw away your adjustable wrench this is just 5x better and has 50% wider jaw opening (for a comparable sized adjustable). The design of a balanced "Y" member upper arm (the lower jaw piece) is a definite advantage over an offset slip-joint design ..... improved hand torquing for a good hold. Treat yourself to a quality tool.

I should bought the set of different sizes. I think 180 and 250 is the perfect combo.
