It claimed, and the photo showed, that it was an FTDI-manufactured lead. But it wasn't, so returned for credit and ordered a cheaper, more honest, compatible lead.

Reliable FTDI RS485 to USB Cable — Perfect for Raspberry Pi Projects
I used this FTDI RS485 to USB serial cable to decipher RS485 signals from my Jandy Aqualink pool controller and feed them into a Raspberry Pi Zero W 2.
