could you use this when quarantining fish?

API suggests to use Melafix AND Pimafix together for Flukes and Parasitic Worms OR use General Cure for 7 days - what ever you treat with also add heat to 85-86 degrees to kill ICH along with Flukes and Parasites. That covers them all :) That’s what I do BUT YOU MUST add a few air stones because heat and meds take up a lot of oxygen. The air stones will keep the oxygen in and circulate the water. use a few Gallons in a container or tank and change the full water everyday to match the temp, redose just the right amount for the same water you change. Changing the full water daily gets rid of dead parasites, bacteria and fungus. I have used both ways but like General Cure and heat for QT better. If after General Cure treatment and the fish still have some sort of fungus or bacteria skin problem.... then QT 7days again with just Melafix and Pimafix so they can heal completely before putting them in display tank. Also when ready to move the QT fish(s) to Display tank... raise the heat in your display tank to 85-86 for a week just to be safe ALL fish in the tank are clear of ICK so no one will have an outbreak from stress while the new fish is adjusting. This works 100% of the time for me and everyone stays healthily while adjusting.

Why the bootle of 8oz said melaleuca 1% and when i select the bootle of 16oz said pimenta ..why??

pimenta is stronger. they probably assume you have a big tank and big fish, but it works well with smaller fish

It shouldn't affect your water chemistry at all.

No, it will kill your fish. Don't use this product at all. It is basically melaluca oil and it will clog your fish's gills and they suffocate to a slow death. This should not be sold as a fish remedy, but as a fish euthanizer. API should be ashamed of themselves. My poor goldfish. :(
