N-acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is the more stable form of the amino acid L-Cysteine due to the additional acetyl molecule attached. L-Cysteine can directly participate in glutathione synthesis, whereas N-acetyl-L-cysteine must be first de-acetylated (i.e., broken down) before its incorporation to glutathione. Cell studies have shown L-Cysteine to be more effective in increasing cellular antioxidant glutathione levels. However, L-Cysteine is less stable than NAC so oxidizes more readily in the body. To help prevent or slow this process, 3x more ascorbic acid (vitamin C) should be consumed. So for every 1g L-Cysteine consider taking 3 g Vitamin C.

I read an article about a new study saying this will cure hangovers. Thoughts?

I read that article and bought a bottle to try. It works! Absolutely amazing hangover cure that actually works. I get hangovers from just 2 glasses of beer normally and now I get virtually none. I just take 2 tablets each time I drink and may take another if I go hard. If I drink too much and forget to take a 3rd tablet, I may have a very mild headache the next day, which is much improved from being out for the count all day like I used be after drinking. My boyfriend and roommate can also attest and ask me for some whenever we have some drinks together. All I can say is, just try it. You'll be amazed.

Is it made of human hair? If surprised read about L cysteine or E920(another name) on internet

Apparently synthetic L-Cysteine is expensive to manufacture, so human hair, duck feathers and pigs' bristles can be used. Whether NOW's L-Cysteine is a product of human hair it is not clear.

I used this supplement to help with acne scars and hyperpigmentation. This brand is my trusted brand of supplements for a while. The tablet is kinda big. I already used it for 1.5 months and have seen some improvement in some particular areas, so to me, it is quite effective and functional. It is tasteless. I’m still looking to see its brightening effect, but so far nothing is visible yet. I will update my review when more things come to light.

These are smooth and easy to swallow despite being quite large. I bought these to reduce hangover the next day, after reading an article about it. They don't seem to work any better than the big Costco multivitamins. Or it could all be the placebo effect.
