40mm Men's Full Grain Leather Snap-On Belt

This belt blank is incredible value for money. The leather is really thick (4 mm) and amazing quality. I'm absolutely delighted with it. The edges aren't burnished, so I will rub some beeswax on them and burnish them myself. The leather doesn't smell or feel as if it has been treated so I'm going to give it a good coating of dubbin and then turn a hairdryer on it. Neither of those points are criticisms; rather they're what you'd do to any new leather belt at this price. BUT, be warned, it's just a tad too wide for a 1 1/2 inch belt buckle. I actually bought it to put an old Levis 501 buckle on not realising that it was just a bit too wide. I've actually shelled out for a new buckle to put on this as I'm delighted with the leather. I'm 71, and I'm confident that I'll never need to replace this in my lifetime. So I'm going to have one additional belt and one of my boys will inherit it when I don't need it any more! I've sourced a 1 1/2 inch blank from another source for the Levis buckle. :-)

Excellent quality and hand made by Darren. Lovely leather and top quality fixings

Good quality, 4 stars as it comes up short. Really short, this is said to fit upto 36 or 38 waist. Only just went round me and im 34, would advise sizing up for anyone buying

I needed to replace some belts I bought from an online retailer. The buckles were fine but the leather finish failed. These replacement belts are an upgrade and are just the ticket with heavy duty snap closures to hold the old buckles (no riveting required, just snap the new belt around the buckle). The leather and hardware are very good at this price. Made in UK another plus point. Sizing is spot on although if you are at the large end of a size range I would suggest you size up. A perfect fit for jeans and the thickness of the leather up for the job.

Love the quality of manufacture, it should last a very long time. Nice thing too is that one can use your favourite buckle. I had to change the first one I bought for the next size up, so I would suggest you don't use the first and last hole size guide, as it misled me. Use the UK standard size (Medium, Large etc) for a better fit.

I measured very carefully and still ended up with a belt that was too small, so here’s what’s actually going on with Ashford Ridge sizing. Most belt makers measure from the buckle bar to the middle hole. Using that standard method, I need 36 inches to the middle hole. Ashford Ridge, however, measure including the entire buckle, which adds extra length. Their belts arrive without a buckle, and my buckle is a 2‑inch buckle, so their sizing doesn’t translate directly. Buckles are all different sizes. Once you factor in buckle length, a belt that should fit me at 36" actually needs to be around 38" to the middle hole in Ashford Ridge’s system. That’s a big difference. The Medium I ordered was far too small - I could only use the last two holes. With a bare waist of 36", the correct Ashford Ridge size for me is Large, not Medium. Hopefully this helps someone avoid the same sizing confusion. Apart from that, it smells of leather but feels a little 'bonded' - and the snap buttons are very thin. I'm sure £17.99 is very cost-effective for a leather belt, but I'm not going to get a replacement.

Really excellent quality belt - very well made. And being a smaller company, having a label stating who had made it was such a great touch. Would highly recommend!

I have been searching for several weeks to find a "real" leather belt without a buckle. I never would have believed how difficult the task is. Most belts advertised as leather are in fact leather coated junk from China. Finally I thought I found the perfect UK company, Ashford Ridge. I read dozens of reviews prior to purchase to ensure they were whole grain leather, and good quality. I even paid big attention to the sizing to make sure they fitted. All my trousers are 30 to 32 inch waist depending on trouser style. So I confidently ordered two of the medium 32 to 36 inch waist belts to be safe. On arrival, I could already see they were way too small. So I ordered the large 36 to 40 inch waist belt, it arrived and the fit looked perfect. My joy ended right there. The pop studs are so cheap, thin and nasty that I can't undo them, they just bend. The company even attach a tag to show who made the belt, giving the illusion that some form of quality control is in place, when clearly there is not. So, many weeks later, I still have six beautiful belt buckles but no belts.

I’ve purchased several of these belts from this brand. Definitely quality leather. I have them in black and brown to interchange w my boots. They hold up great, soft flexible leather that doesn’t cut into you. I also like them for my OWB conceal carry holster. The value for you dollar is so good I’ve even gifted them and the recipients love them as well.
