Can I used this with iPad Pro which is 12.9 inches?

Yes, works perfectly with my iPad Pro 12.9 2017. However, it will not fit the iPad with a case. It will only fit for landscape mode. Yes, you can swivel it to portrait mode, but there is a greater chance of an accident since there is no holder on the bottom. Still, the grip is good that I’d trust it in portrait mode.

Can anyone recommend a protective case for a musician? They all seem to have a folding cover, and I'm not sure which will actually fit with this clamp

I use, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MNCPSZY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It fits fine. I also saw the reviews were pretty low on this. I disagree with the low review. It is only flimsy if you do not put the Apple Pencil in the spot. Then it is great. Fits in clip fine too.

I may have missed this question...all photos show this being used horizontally, can it be switched to vertical mode as well?

The answer is yes. However it does not spread out far enough to hold the length of a full size iPad. Therefore, the iPad will be in Landscape mode when used vertically which is good for watching movies but not so good when scrolling music lyrics.

I do not see where to fix the microphone. May you please provide a picture and confirm if irig voice mic is supported?
