Pleasant long lasting scent
I like the added scent in the air that these provide. Some scents are stronger than others. As some other reviewers wrote they seem to lose their strength after a week or two; what I realized while the scent does seem to fade, it is actually there. I think we all become a little nose blind after a while. When I leave the house and come back after a few hours I can smell the subtle scent as a visitor would. I think a hint of fragrance is better than an overwhelming in your face one. I also found that when they dry up to about 1/3 of the gel I take a tooth pic and score the gel a little bit which reactivates it a little bit.

Smells Toxic When Mixed w/ Heat and other issues
What a disaster! This started out on a good note as through the package it smelled kinda good. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. Upon opening the package and removing the item the smell became overwhelming. I was reading the directions looking for the backing I was supposed to remove and could not find it. Upon closer examination, I noticed that the backing was inside the packaging, so it was already off. Next I was checking out the things you were supposed to peel off in order to get stronger scent. Mine were already mostly peeled off anyway so I just removed the loose papers because I did not want that ending up sucked into my furnace. Next it comes with a command strip thing so I placed it in the vent after the furnace because it was pointless to put it on our filter as it says to put it on the filter furthest away from the blower motor. Well why would I want to put a scent that I want in my house on the filter which will then filter it out? That makes no sense. The way our vents are in our basement I could attach it to a vent on the ceiling that they goes on to heat our entire downstairs. (we have two furnaces...one for upstairs, and one for downstairs) So at that point after handling this thing I felt sort of icky/sickly like I had toxic chemicals on me. It caused sort of a sickly feeling and a weird chemical taste in my mouth. I thought maybe it was just from it being on my hands so I washed up well and then waited to see how it was. My heat was not on much during the day because it was sort of warm and sunny which warmed up our house but that night the heat came on and in the middle of the night I woke up with that taste in my mouth and that sickly feeling. Even though my bedroom was upstairs it had drifted up into the bedrooms since heat tends to rise. I tried covering my head with the sheet but could not shake that toxic feeling in my mouth and the sickly feeling so I got up put on gloves and removed the offending toxic scent thing and disposed of it in the outside trash can. I will never buy one of these again. The scents obviously are not naturally because I never feel this way when I smell an apple pie baking or even if I steep cinnamon sticks. This simply can not possibly be healthy for anyone. Thanks for reading my review

Great product.
This stuff is amazing. Lightly scents entire house. Larger house may need two but long lasting and nice scent.

The most un-reviewable product ever? Depending on use it's the best or the worst!
I debated about how to review this air freshener because it really is a quandary. How do you a review a product that you can never tell if it's good or not because it depends on so many variables? There are so many things that depend on you, the user of the air freshener, that it's impossible to know if what you did caused it to be good or bad or if it's the actual product that's good or bad. First, there's the air freshener itself. You really don't know if the scent you pick is good or not until you use it for the first time. Plus, there is a way to make the scent stronger but you don't know how strong you want it until you use it. So, if you pick a scent you don't like, you won't know until it's too late. And, if you make the scent too strong out of the gate, there's no way to reduce it. (Tip: Always start without removing the backings on the scent pods. You can always make the scent stronger, but you can't lessen it.) I've used this product before and found the "Seaside Mist" to be the most pleasant. I realize this air freshener isn't that expensive, but I don't necessarily want to spend money to go through things I don't like either. Next, there's putting on the air freshener on the filter. For my particular HVAC unit, the space that holds the filter is designed to fit the filter snugly and nothing else. While the air freshener is quite thin and flush, I had to do some creative filter management to make sure I didn't bend the filter after putting on the air freshener and trying to reinsert it. Also, you have to be aware that you are putting the air freshener on the correct side so it lines up with the airflow. Put the air freshener on the wrong side and you really won't smell anything. Lastly, how much you notice the scent and how long it lasts depends almost entirely on how you use your furnace and/or central air conditioner. Do you barely use either? Then you really won't smell it too much but it will last a long time. Do you use either all the time? Then you'll definitely smell it, but it will fade out pretty quickly. Do you use your air conditioner more than your furnace? The scent will last a lot longer but won't be as strong. Do you use your furnace more than your air conditioner? The scent will disappear rather quickly but will be much stronger. You have to use this air freshener multiple times to kind of get a feeling of how much you're using it versus how much do you want the scent to be present in your home. I should say I do like the idea of this product. When it works, it works great. The issue I have with it is it requires a lot of trial and error that I don't how much people are willing to do for it to be useful. The only reason I kept using it was I lucked into figuring out pretty quickly how I like to use it. My advice is if you want to try this out, start at a time when you barely use your HVAC. For example, in the Spring or Fall when you occasionally use your HVAC but not all the time. Again, the idea behind this is great, but don't expect a consistent experience every time.

Not worth the money
Kind of disappointed in this product. House never had a smell to it from this. And honestly wasn't worth the money.

Fresh smelling
Some much humidity here in florida. Without this freshener it tends to smell stale. This livens up the whole house

For more then filter vents!
These have endless uses! I cut each sheet into 8 single round fresheners. I use these to keep the office smelling fresh! My usues: (a few examples) Behind the toilet. Behind the trash can lid Inside pen/pencil holder Inside filing cabinets Under the top side of the entry desk On top of table frames Be aware to keep these away from any consumable item. The scents will get absorbed into them and destroy them.

I have approximately 2200 sq feet house and i don’t smell anything coming thru the vents. Smells nice when you open the pouch, just wish it would have worked.

It drys out in 1 or 2 week after installation , eventhough its still full capacity it dries out and thats the reason the smell fade out quickly. Its strange how 3M cant solve this issue!!

I purchased the crisp cinnamon apple which smells great. Haven't put them on my filter yet but have had these in the past. They only last about a month so I bought two packs. Would recommend them. Wish I could purchase them in Home Depot like I did two years ago.

This is a great idea. The scent is pretty subtle but there are ways to make it stronger, although I’m not sure why anyone would want to. Lasts about 2 months. I like that it isn’t overpowering like plug in air fresheners.
