Question 1

How many ghz does this splitter have? tivo suggests a splitter of 2 ghz or higher. thank you.

Upper Frequency is 1675MHz or 1.675GHz. In actually  many splitters STATINGe their operational bandpass is to 2GHz, but in "real terms" the band pass rolls off at 1.8MHz and barely provides usable band pass beyond that point. As a retired designer of these type of passives, I believe that TIVO is wanting you to buy Satellite splitters which are 5 times as expensive have the same roll off issue as the less expensive devices. The other issue with satellite splitters is they do not work effectively with cable modems. Hope this helps.

Question 2

Is this good for external use? I have two antennas pointed in different directions that I want to combine.

Unless specified as one way, splitters can also be used as combiners.

As to Mikes response. The cable from multiple antennas to a combiner all need to be the same length. So if the antenna farthest from the combiner needs 10 feet of cable, then all antennas need 10 feet of cable. This ensures the signal from each antenna arrives at the combiner in sync time wise. If the cables are different lengths the signal will arrive at slightly different times and be out of sync. So all cables should be the same length and you will have no issues with multiple antennas. I've used multiple antennas for years with very good results.

Question 3

If you use moca, do you have to have certain speeds coming into your house?   am not sure if i need a splitter that uses moca or not.  my modem will.

My internet connection is supposed to be Xfinity Blast high speed 150 MPS, but I end up not getting that much.  This computer only get around 60 MPS.  Upstairs with the direct connection I get about 70-75 MPS.  I have a TIVO, TV, a weather station and this computer hooked up downstairs.  i think that there is a Max that the MOCA  can put out, but don't think there is a minimum it needs.  Make sure that you have a filter at the cable access point to prevent broadcasting to the neighborhood.  I hope that helps.
