The best EBL charger for EBL batteries by a mile
I should have gotten this charger first... This one is absolutely amazing compared to most others in the same price bracket or lower. For example, I had the 16-slot circular powerowl charger before hand. Less than 6 months in and 2 slots burned out and can't be used. Oh and it takes 10 hours to charge your batteries... So finally, I got this EBL fast charger. And WOW does it charge fast. Their claim of 4x faster vs average is absolutely spot on and correct. It charges a 10% remaining EBL Gold Pro 1100mAh AAA in just 45 to 60 minutes It charges depleted to 10% AA EBL Gold Pro 2800mAh batteries in about 2hrs That is a absolutely amazing. And the best part is that it fast charged no matter how many batteries were in the charger. 1 or 16 it still charges them at 80% capacity amperage. This means if your cell is rated for 2000mAh the charger will feed it 1800mAh to charge it up to 90% before trickle charging to 100% No other charger on the market, unless you want to pay exorbitant prices, can do this well As far as durability goes, it is very solid. It feels absolutely well built. There is a high-quality feel to it. The LED status lights PER SLOT actively tell you how far along charging is. There is a total of 5 bars displayed. So every 20% charged a new bar is added. This means 4/5 bars on slot 4, for example, means at least 80% is charged thus far. Each bar represents 20% as it's 5 bars total. The charger also had automatic functions to recover over-depleted cells. I tried this functionality on 2 dead cells I have, and it actually worked. The cells took 3hrs to charge (2800mAh AA) but once charged, came back to life I have replaced recently all of my EBL standard batteries with their upgraded Gold Pro series, and they work very well with this EBL fast charger. I recommend looking into the Gold versions of EBL - the main benefit is a 25% more capacity is delivered, and they maintain 90% charge even at 3 years or more. That's the gold standard in the industry and EBL batteries and battery chargers work flawlessly together. It's a great idea to pick up this EBL fast charger, especially if you also own EBL batteries. They work perfectly together This charger is easily the absolute best you can buy in this price bracket. Nothing else even comes close

Great Charger
Great Charger. Power plug inserts fully with a forceful push into socket and will never come out. Have noticed that the top 20 % LED bar on the battery charge indicator is not split in half that indicates it is in final 10 % trickle charge mode as shown on the attached photo. My batteries are all mostly charged so it is possible that they go straight to 100% fully charged with 5 full bars. Like the fact that a spring is not needed to install the batteries. AAA batteries must be slotted at a downward angle onto a different positive contact -- unlike AA's that are horizontal. Battery removal is challenging without using a screwdriver to gently push the positive side the battery back onto the negative spring connection and then pull upward -- while maintaining back pressure.

Forget all the other chargers out there (all of which I have tried, some twice!)
This is the charger you want, especially if you are considering another model of EBL charger, or the re-branded SunLabz charger which now goes by the name of Tenergy TN438 16 Bay Battery Charger that has recently re-appeared on Amazon. The SunLabz / Tenergy charger lasted me only about 4-5 months before the slots started giving me error messages, even on new EBL and Amazon batteries. It would also 'bake' the batteries that it failed so that they were hot to the touch which was not safe at all. I can see that the Tenergy is based on the original SunLabz design which apparently went under with all of its quality problems. I have no reason to believe that the Tenergy unit will fare any better as it seems to share most of the SunLabz units parts and appearance. The EBL 16 bay unit is super nice and it is built with the quality and the reputation that EBL has come to be known for. The charger is very easy to load, which makes me not want to use any the other ones out there. I have little time or patience to set there with each battery and fiddle around with it to get it to line up correctly with the contacts to get the battery to start charging. Then there is the extra added frustration with bumping batteries that you have just loaded, during this process, causing them to slip out of their contacts! Use the plastic slots Luke! There is no aligning the battery manually, and no dinking around with clumsy springs on this one. The batteries align with a plastic slot and with a gentle pressure, they give you a very satisfying snap and click into place. The display is super easy to read and very reliable.

This model can charge up to 16 double A or triple A batteries at once.
I have been using a different model of EBL battery charger for years now. My old model only charges up to 4 batteries at once. and it typically takes a couple of hours or so to do this. Eventually one of the 4 ports stopped working, so now only 3 of 4 ports work. Although it is still a pretty good charger, I wanted an even better model, and this unit seems to be just that. Besides the 16 battery capacity, it seems to charge the batteries faster than my old model does, which is a plus. I've only had this new unit for a couple of weeks, but so far it appears to be a very good charger. I hate wasting money on regular batteries; they last a little while, then die & you buy more. Not to my liking. I would rather buy a good charger and use only rechargeable batteries. Try one today & save some money!

Looks to be exactly asLove that it will do both AA and AAA batteries.
Appears to work as advertised. Have not recharged batteries yet due to the fact that I purchased new ones and have not had the need to use charger yet. Will change review after use.

Works great and relieves my mind
I love having the rechargeable batteries so I don't have to throw away used batteries, imagining them poisoning our land and oceans. This one has many batteries and works well. It shows exactly how charged your batteries are so you can easily select fully charged ones and they charge very quickly. I keep extras so I've always got some charging. Great product!

Does not charge Eneloops
I have close to 200 Eneloop AA/AAA's that get recharged in batches. Using the Panasonic factory 4-slot chargers has been tedious, needing to use banks of them back to back. I was eager when I found this EBL 16 port charger, which would be far more convenient. I have a different EBL multi-battery charger that charge EBL and Amazon Basics C batteries well, so I had high expectations of this AA/AAA charger. At first I thought it was charging the Eneloop batteries quickly and to capacity. It would even resurrect some Eneloops gone bad that would no longer charge on the Panasonic charger. But I later noticed that the charged batteries would not last as long. When I put a battery meter to the EBL charged batteries, it would show a partial charge. If I put them back in the EBL charger, it would show a full charge. If I then put them in the Panasonic charger, they would charge for 4-5 more hours to full capacity and last the expected duration of use. The EBL charger does charge the Eneloops but not to full capacity, and it doesn't seem to measure the charged capacity of the Eneloops accurately. This is consistent across over 100 Eneloops from different years. I didn't have other brand AA/AAA's to test. There is at least 1 review from someone who said Eneloops are charged well. I can't recommend this product for Eneloops, and if you get it, I do recommend verifying right away that the batteries get fully charged. Unfortunately by the time I figured this out, it was long past the return cutoff date.

EBL battery charger very
Batteries charge quickly. Charger itself sturdy and seems well made. Other chargers are so light the slightest touch sends it flying and batteries go flying. Very good so far!
