Used it on a 1972 El Camino. Already had the brackets for the cable. The El Camino throttle hole in the firewall uses a square clip that was bigger than the round fittings used in the cable. Had to use a dremel to reuse the square clip with the new cable passing through it. Will probably weld a firewall patch in the future but it was an easy fix.

I have many Lokar products, and they are all very high quality. Unfortunately I was sent the wrong version of this throttle cable, and had to return it. I decided not to reorder it through the same vendor, because everything on the order showed the correct model number, except the Lokar box they actually sent, and I was afraid they would just do it again.

Only because I can't give it 10 stars. I got the one with the black stainless housing; it looks great. Easy to follow instructions (that I got before I ordered from the Lokar site). Some people complained about the ferrule. If you follow the instructions you'll see that if you have either stainless housing you slide the ferrule UP the cable housing, not off. But be careful when you're putting it back in place. If you pull too hard it comes right off (Doh!). But a small screwdriver and a little patience and you're good. Don't play with it too much as it spreads every time you touch it. Love that it's made in the USA. If I was pressed for a complaint, the carb end assembly is 10mm not SAE.
