Is the material a cheap polyester or is it comfortable on skin?

It's not like a normal, soft flannel. It is itchy, so you would want to wear a long sleeve shirt under it. It's not a heavy material.

I’m 5’2 and weigh 160, I usually like my flannels oversized, what size should I get??

These are definitely oversized as is! I’m 5’1 120 and wearing the small!! Lots of room.. oversized fit

Is jacket thick for cooler weather?

Yes. It can be worn in cooler weather outside in the fall, but not cold weather. You would still need a coat in colder temps in my opinion.

The tag says 95% polyester and 5% spandex. It feels nice but it is not as long as I would like and kind of looks boxy.
