What's the difference between the x540-t2 and x550-t2 ?

The X520 and X540 have a PCIe 2.0 x8 interface, which has 32Gbit/s bandwidth. The X550 has a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface, which has 32Gbit/s bandwidth. The single-port versions may be used in slower slots: X520-T1/DA1 or X540-T1/DA1 will work in a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot (at 16Gbit/s); the manual says the T550-T1 should work in a PCI 2.0 x4 slot as well, although I haven’t tried it.

Has anyone actually gotten close to the 10gbps connection speed for this card? pcie 2.0 has limit of 5 gt/s or about 4gpbs max. so can it be 10gb?

The card is PCIe 2 with x8 lanes, which is 4 GigaByte per second. 4 GigaByte is the same as 32 GigaBit, so it should handle 10 GigaBit just fine.

Will this card negotiate down to a pcie gen 3 x2? i think my only free x4 slot only runs in x2 mode which is why i'm asking.

does this work with windows 11?

I have not gotten it to work with windows 11. The seller says to install drivers 26.7 but those dont work
