Yamaha FS830 acoustic guitar
Yamaha makes very nice acoustic guitars on a budget. I wanted this guitar because it was small enough for me to sit and noodle when I'm sitting on the couch maybe watching TV working on a specific technique. It sounds very nice. It looks good and is a quality product. If something happened to it I would buy again.

Wow, Just Wow, for the Money
I went for the much reduced "Used – acceptable," and the thing was immaculate. There were quite a few scratches on the cellophane protector to the pick guard! I have a solid wood Yamaha LS 16, also a wonderful deal from Amazon warehouse, but almost 3 times the price. That one was worth every penny but this one is an amazing deal. I had to do even less to make it sound great and play smooth as butter. A slightly shorter scale length makes this easier on the fingers, and the fingerstyle clarity and comfort see me reaching for this sometimes over the Gibson J 45. Great practice and travel guitar, though if you do want a Boomer, I suggest looking at the FG.

Great quality at this price.
Bought this for my wife for Christmas as a beginner guitar. It shows excellent quality and sounds excellent. Perfect for beginners.

Great instrument for the price
Beautiful, very well priced instrument. Great high and mid tones, with good sustain. This is your typical training wheels or composition tool...won't let you down. Right size body and terrific neck. That said, action is terrible out-of-the-box, and your first intervention is to get it lower. So crank the Allen key to the right several times to get to where it is to be. I have not changed the saddle yet but may do to lower it more. Overall, great buy even if it does not come with anything, not even a cheap gig bag, hence only 4 stars. ---Updated--- I changed the saddle to a bone one and lower it. Wood pegs and Daddario strings and voila ! even better with great sustain, and clear tones.

This guitar is awesome
Honestly was scared ordering off of Amazon but it was shipping from The Music Zoo. Got it in 2 days, packaged perfectly. Guitar is absolutely amazing quality. Strings look brand new, & the action honestly feels perfect out of the box. I’m not in any rush to get it professionally set up. Would definitely buy again & recommend. I got the Tobacco Sunburst FS830

Yamaha Quality shows
I am a beginner guitarist and I started playing on an electric guitar. I wanted to add an acoustic guitar to my collection for times when I don't want to "plug-in". I started with a cheap Costco Washburn and returned that quickly as it was difficult to play. Got a Yamaha FG-830 dreadnought size and that sounded wonderful but again as a beginner, the size was too large for me to get comfortable. Found this "concert-size" model and the size was correct and sounded nearly as full as the larger model. However, I ended up returning this model only to get the same model FSX830C that has a cutaway for playing the higher frets. My reasoning was on my electric I am playing scales and stuff high up the neck and I wanted to continue to practice on my acoustic. In hindsight though I probably should have kept this one.

Amazed At This Guitar
I have been playing guitar since I was 10 years old, so 56 years. I already owned 5 guitars but I wanted a “couch guitar”, a cheap guitar I could just have lying around the house for anybody to grab if they felt like playing. I had played one of these Yamaha FS830s at a music store while I was on vacation recently and I was surprised at the quality of the guitar (and I would have bought it, except I didn’t want to risk flying it home on a plane and shipping it would have cost as much as the guitar is worth). I always said I would NEVER buy a guitar online without having played it first, but this guitar is cheap, they had it at Amazon, and I thought, Why not? So I went ahead and ordered this guitar. Well, I was amazed when I got it - for one thing, this guitar was set up as well as if one of my fancy luthiers had set it up! As far as playability, this guitar plays like a dream. It arrived in absolutely perfect condition, ready to play right out of the box. I didn’t even change the strings that shipped with it (at least, not right away - usually when I buy a guitar the first thing I do is put my favored brand of strings on it). For the money, you absolutely cannot beat this guitar. My expensive Martins and my Taylor are all languishing in their cases right now because I am playing this guitar ALL the time.

Guitar nice, customer service nightmare
Meant to get larger guitar but ordered small. As soon as it arrived realized our mistake, didn't open the box and wrote to exchange for larger. Customer service was dreadful and it was a big fight to finally exchange it.

Absolutely wonderful!
I absolutely love this guitar, it’s slightly smaller size makes is 2x more comfortable to play. I wish I didn’t worry so much about it being smaller, I would buy it again in a heart beat. Absolutely beautiful design and build quality, you won’t be let down. Packaging was very good! Two thumbs up.

Small body, small tone
This guitar did not sound good to me, very little low end and tinny highs. Neck is very thin, so it could be good for small hands. I did not like the details in the binding and some of the finishing touches. Returned and looking at Canadian made guitars for just a hundred more dollars.
