Ametek 120V Vacuum Motor, 2 Stage, 5.7" Dia 116336-01

Direct replacement for my Central Vac. Works like new again.

I purchased this for my 40 year old Milwaukee Wet/Dry Shop Vac wich stopped working. Fortunately I did not have to use this motor because the switch was the problem. This motor is built by Lamb Electric even though it says Ametec on the box, and is a direct replacement motor and appeard to be very high quality. AND IT WAS NOT MADE IN CHINA! Excellent price too.

I ordered two of these motors for an old central vac that finally had developed a bad bearing in one of the motors. This replacemnet motor was an exact fit, and I had no issues with installing it and it works great. In this vac, one blower feeds into the second one, so I replaced both motors at the same time. It was a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a new central vac unit. I would recommend this vendor highly, as they shipped promptly, and they were well packaged, and worked fine.

No matter how much deep cleaning you do on your original shop vac motors, the painful freight trane whirrl sound seems to recur sooner and sooner after teach time you clean..the hastle of dissassembly and detail cleaning, and then the time involved. Replace with this motor (and this one's pretty universal with some basic level modification, ie snipping out certain pieces of the rubbery plastic be it fins, housing supports or whatever keeps the motor from seating well....which is the main goal . stabilize the motor so its nots loose and the axis is sstable and not shifting. Plug in if possible before install after you solidly cage the motor so that it can't move and skate across the flloor. Or rather than cage it or wedge it , grab the bull by the horns & have someone plug it in briefly. I t won't shock . It will be super loud to where you might think louder than your dysfunctional motor, but once its encased in the shop vac housing it will be much quieter and last much longer. It'll sound and feel like a brand new shop vac.for 1/2 price

Just what we needed. Great product

Vacuum motor works great. Perfect fit as a replacement motor in my 20-year old central vac unit. Had some trouble getting the correct unit delivered, though. The supplier had the wrong part in a box marked with this motor number. Had success on the third delivery after talking directly with the supplier.
