Works as advertised!
Delivered ahead of time (after I made phone call); well packed in styrofoam so zero damage; instructions clear enough & fully assembled in 4 hrs without rushing (used loader on my tractor to lift blower), all parts fit, nothing missing. Started up and worked perfectly with my 20" Jet planer--no dust at all. Another key feature for me was 66 gal drum for chips as I plane a lot of slabs. Finally, price at $ 1760 was lowest by far!! Looked to be just a one day sale.

Great choice for a modest shop.
Compared to my old dust collector that was not a cyclone and 2 horse power this has been a dramatic move up in suction and so far, it appears that it is maintaining the suction far better than the old unit with the large pleated filter. Noise isnโt too bad, remote is weak, takes a few tries sometimes to hit the right spot and turn the unit off. Nice size unit, looks good if that matters and the canister on the optional wheels is a great help in emptying the unit. Not sure about the bag in the drum, sometimes it sounds like it is being sucked in to the unit. Iโm pleased so far and the vacuum can support two gates being open at the same time.

I do not post reviews on products unless they impress me. I have to say that i went from a Harbor Freight 2hp dust collector to this. On my Old Collector I added a Winn filter and also devised a flapper system to knock off the dust from inside the filter. I could sand with a drum sander (jet 16-32 drum sander) for about 1.5 hours then have to remove the dust from the filter because there was no suction anymore. The jet JCDC-3 Dust collector has twice the suction with twice the distance from the collector. I have a 4" pipe that runs a total of 18' from the collector to the sander, wye off to 3 other stations for another 15' of pipe. I can have all the stations gates open and still have enough suction for the sander. With doing all of this sanding, i would say that at least 95% of all the dust is trapped in the drum. The filter has a bag and after dumping the drum( full of mostly sanding dust) has about 4 to 6 cups worth of dust in it. The only issue that i can come up with is the battery compartment for the remote allows the batteries to move around some and could not make good contact to power the remote. This has only happened once to me. the remote has good range and does work through a 8" wall. If you are tired of dust collector problems then this is worth the money. This collector is not cheep. My collector runs about 5 hours a day. The noise level is not bad.

It honestly looked like a used machine
This is the second product I have ordered from Jet. The other item being Jet - JWP-208HH: 20-inch Helical Head Planer, 5 HP 1 Phase. Jet needs some serious help with their quality control on paint finishes. The planer arrived with paint peeling and and chips in various places. It honestly looked like a used machine. The dust collector is no different, there is scuff marks, run marks, and paint chipped in a few places. I am afraid all their parts go through the same quality control. Jet is garbage and does not produce the same quality products they use to.

I got this dust collector, it looks nice but unfortunately had not turned on because the poor descriptions the unit it needs to connected to 230v outlet and my shop has 220 so I need to hired an electrician, and had been a pain to find an electrician who wants to do just that, I recommend the seller to put more details on the power. Because not everyone know to look for the outlet or the power you may not have available in your shop. Instructions are bad really bad .

it is a great upgrade from my Delta 1
I have a small shop, it is a great upgrade from my Delta 1.5 hp unit. No comparison, This dust collector really sucks.... I recommend this dust collector and would recommend it. The dust collector is an impressive unit, High quality. The remote control is cheap, the battery compartment for the remote allows the batteries to move around some and could not make good contact to power the remote. This happens all the time, I had Jet send me a replacement unit for free it didn't work at all. This is why the dust collector only got 4 stars.

Nice dust collector!
I switched from a 4-bag Delta dust collector rated at 2400 CFM to this collector rated lower and was a little nervous I wouldn't get the pull I had before. I am very happy with the amount of dust that is picked up and I no longer get clogs in the pipes. Even those this is rated lower then the big Delta, it seems to pull as well or better. Would recommend it!

out of the box
Like many of you this purchase represents an upgrade from a smaller unit that you have outgrown. To date I await my electrician to give me 240v power to fire this puppy up. My unit arrived with hardware missing, a bent frame coupling between the main power unit and the cyclone connection to the collection barrel, and totally worthless hose clamps. I wonder why Jet would build a beautiful functional unit and then cheap it with vital components. I am hoping all ends well, but at this time it is a big ?
