I installed the Cowles Custom – Superior 18ft Black U-Channel Edge Guard Trim and couldn’t be happier. The peel-and-stick design made installation super easy, and it went on clean with no issues. The price is very fair for the quality of material you get. It does a great job protecting the truck’s edges while also giving it a clean, finished look. Simple upgrade that actually makes a difference. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for protection without sacrificing appearance. These worked great! I put this on both my Nissan Armada and Honda CRV, including putting it on all 4 doors, and also around the whole hood. This one kit was enough for both vehicles. Great quality, has been about 5 months now, and still sticks fine and looks brand new! UPDATE: Almost two years later...I am disappointed. After one year, the summer was hard on the glue and it began melting all over my car doors. The chrome is still on but it falls off of the doors often and I stick it back on. The glue won't come off my doors, I'm not sure how to remove it. My wife is very unhappy with the chrome and wants it gone from her car.

Update: The 2" trim was coming off at one of the ends. I contacted Cowles and without hesitation they replaced the product, so I am giving 5 stars to all 3 products. Original: I purchased Cowles 2", 1/2 inch and edge guard. The last 2 get 5 stars, but the 2 inch is NOT the same as the others. All 3 products are excellent and they revived my old SUV. It is relative easy to apply, but be careful measuring. The 3M adhesive does not cover the whole width of the 2 inches, but it has two narrow stripes on each end of the 2 inches. The problem comes when you apply pressure can create dents in the middle and may not hold as well.

These were easy to cut and install. Maybe it's from the sun/weather elements constantly beating down on them, but these started to slip/come off a bit (see pic - when I first put them on, they were flush with the black window trim), and it leaves a black residue on the car (which would likely come off with a cleaning) - I just put them back in place when I notice the slippage. The aside from that, they do to a good job of protecting the doors as intended, and they do look good.

Excellent product. Makes the car look a whole lot better, the gloss finish completes the look. Easy to apply.

This item will not fit the door edges of my 2018 Silverado. My door edges are 5.5mm and this item will not open to that size.

This stuff worked very well for the plastic trim edges on my 1974 cadillac sedan deville. I heated it up a little bit with a heat gun, had to widen the gap with a little flathead, and worked it onto the edge of my bumper filler. It turned out nice, and with a little heat also fit nicely into the corners. Good product, the glue seems good after heating it up a little.

I really wanted to like this product, it really does work in keeping your door edges chip and ding free. HOWEVER, and this is a really really big however, the U-channel is filled with some kind of adhesive. This adhesive melts in hot, sunny days and leaks out the bottom of the u-channel and runs down the door. I now have a HUGE sticky mess running down all four doors and attempting to remove the u-channel makes an even bigger mess. Cowles Custom really needs to address this issue, or at least warn customers that this CANNOT be used in a hot environment. Well, unless of course you don't mind having dirty, sticky adhesive running all down your doors, getting all over people, clothing, pets, ect. I had thought this was the old pressure fit style of u-channel, it most certainly is not. Even my dealership was less than impressed since they do sell this in their parts department, their liability for selling this product suddenly dawned on them. I'm going to take this stuff off and pitch both it and the unused portion, but I have to figure out how to get all the adhesive off my doors first. This is a very poor quality product and the only recommendation I can give is to not buy it, it not worth the mess you end up with

Good quality trim and looks great

Worked for trimming some motorbike plastics perfectly. Sticks and stays around even aggressive corners. The trick I found was to use a heat gun very carefully for the tight turns.

Just what I needed to finish off the tail end of my cafe racer build.

It's ok but i thought one side was adhesive like tape but it was different.
