Got this to replace a corded phone on the house line in my home office. The old corded phone sat horizontally in a cradle on my credenza that made its already hard to read unlit display useless unless you stood right over it. Combine that with a teeth rattling electronic ring and it made any incoming call an interruption whether I took it or not and so it had to go in favor of a basic cordless that cradled vertically and had a reasonably sized caller ID display.Some basic research on the web kept ending up with this Panasonic series either on top of the ratings pile or right near the top. The price was excellent and the incremental cost to get it with a second handset was so small I opted for it so that I could add an extension to a frequently used room currently without.I didn't need yet another answering machine so I got the basic model within the same series. It would have been nice to have the talking caller ID available on the next step up / answering machine equipped version, but other than that this is identical to the more expensive unit with respect to primary features and typical usage. Frankly, I have that talking Caller ID feature on my Jawbone/Blackberry and after the "new" wore off don't think it's worth spending extra $$ for on a stationary phone if it's not already included. If on the other hand you intend to walk around a lot with this clipped to your belt, then Talking Caller ID might be worth the extra expense.For me, I could not be happier with such a basic product. The unit sits unobtrusively out of the way and when it rings, the display lights up and is clearly readable at a quick glance. Range so far as I've walked about the house with it is excellent. Voice clarity is better than any cordless I've used with no background static at all and is arguably better than the corded unit it replaced. It's had no problem with all of the electronics in my office including the wired/wireless router/access point. A good selection of ringer options and customization controls allowed me to tone it down to a gentle background prod when a call comes in instead of the electrifying jar of the old phone. Automatic answer/hang up when you remove from or replace in the cradle, easy voice-mail access, basic directory features, fairly intuitive special feature controls, well lit keypad, etc., all make using this phone as uncomplicated as I can imagine which is the way it should be. It requires no added thought to operate other than deciding what to say or who to call.Happily recommended.

So far I really enjoy my Panasonic KX-TG6512B coordless phone set and feel that there are great features for the price point. Setup was very easy and simple to perform. The sound quality is top of the line and I like that these are DECT 6.0 phones so I don't have to worry about interruption with other wireless device networks. This unit has a really good range to it, in fact I often use it outdoors while in the yard and the belt clip is a handy feature. The speakerphone option built into the handset is awesome and I haven't had any complaints yet over sound quality from people on the other end, at times the speaker can sound slightly muffled but understandable and most probably wouldn't even notice it. I haven't had a chance yet to use the headset feature, but would have been nice to have a bluetooth option, but that would probably cut into the battery life and price point. I use this phone with my Ooma Telo VoIP system and it works like a charm and has no problems interacting with the voice mail system and will even let me know when I have one on the handset. You can program the voicemail number and use pauses to store your passcode if you wish so that is pretty nifty. The phone is easy to read with large letters on the LCD display and is very lightweight. I like that the phone will also stand upright by itself even when not in the cradle. The display will also show you when the phone's charging status and the batteries are standard replaceable NiMH AAA's which is awesome. Additionally I like how the phone has a mute option while on the call, so really this phone works great for personal or home office use and has all the features that one could ask for.
