Is it possible to attach the camera to the monitor?

Yes it is possible. In fact, it has the most convenient method of attaching to the monitor on the market - on top of the wide screen thin LCD monitor. Un-fold the base of the webcam and hang it on the upper bar of the screen. Very easy.

Could I record 8 continous hours with this camera? If not then how many hours, would you recommend it for shooting a low budget seminar?

Indeed, this camera is the Logitech C920 Pro HD Webcam. Yes, Logitech's website states their price: $79.99. Out of stock. B&H Photo shows their price $69.99, "Back ordered, Notify when available."   Resellers have stocked up at the lower price so you can buy it on Amazon for a much higher price. I've bought this camera and other Logitech cameras from B&H Photo and other sources, sometimes waiting 8-12 weeks.

Can this webcam work with Windows 8.1?

just picked one up and have been tinkering all morn with it.  The answer is a tricky one that it appears Logitech does NOT want out there apparently.  YES its basic functionality does work with 8.1...provided you are NOT expecting "follow my face" to work with 1080p native.  YES it does work if you do not expect the "Logitech Camera Controller" app to actually CONTROL the camera in win. 8.1.  YES it does work if you are ok with BLACK and WHITE ONLY feedback in the viewfinder when using their latest software from the desktop.  Lastly YES it does work if you are ok NOT being able to pan/zoom or otherwise tweak your cam while using win 8.1If you look at the Logitech:  http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Webcams/C920-in-black-and-white-in-LWS-2-80-Windows-8-1-Preview/td-p/1083207you will see what I mean by Logitech "not wanting the answer out there".  Clearly multiple users are looking for the same answers but the forum responder CLEARLY dodges the answer and tries to persuade the users to contact them directly thus having to avoid posting the truth... which is:"At this time, since it is currently not supported, please contact Logitech Support directly for assistance with any issue that occurs on Windows 8.1."Nice of you to FINALLY admit it Logitech!  NEXT TIME DONT WASTE MY TIME OR MONEY!!!!Having got all of that off my chest... if you want a webcam to use on your NON widows 8.1, non 1080p display, then I've heard that this camera is supposedly pretty good.  But hey, that's what I get for trying to stay current with technology I guess.  :(
