English Grammar in Use with Answers and CD-ROM: A Self-Study Reference and Practice Book for Intermediate Learners of English

This workbook is hands-down the best book out there. Each lesson (2 pages) has a clearly outlined and explained topic, with drills to follow. It simplifies things for ESL learners and makes it easy to see when to use what in spoken and written English. This is a great book on its own, or as a supplement with other books. Just pull out the specific sections you need, and you are good to go! I love that there is a wide variety of these books as well, in varied levels and with various topics. Plus, this may be minor to most, but I hate when a lesson is divided on back-to-back pages and one has to flip between the pages to reference information. These pages face each other so it is easy to see all relevant information.

As you can see on the cover this is the "The world's best selling grammar book". Why? Because their explanation, organization and activities are perfectly designed to meet the students needs. It is not as advanced as Advanced Grammar in Use (by Martin Hewings) but it's not as basic as Essential Grammar in Use (also from Raymond Murphy). This is the right book for English students who want to better understand, improve and also practice a piece of language already studied. I also recommend it for ESL teachers who need more activities and examples for their students. There's no way of regretting this purchase!

English is my second language and this book is very easy to read and is structured. It not only tells you what to say but WHY it is written or said that way. This book is an effective tool for college students also who seek to write essays with better grammar.

Ergo, (now) I would recommend this seller (and especially this book - with the Product Key) to any teacher of English to non-native speakers ... it is specially designed, and suited for, the advanced learner and is (almost?) sure to challenge ANY student of the English language. You will have the essential portion of English grammar and a very easy and quickly way to learn. The Amazon.com team is highly recommended. My book arrived here in Brazil very fast. It took only a week! And I received it in the comfort of my house, under very good conditions. No complication, no stress! I would like to buy many other things over there but (and this is a big "BUT") unfortunately Amazon.com can't ship to Brazil all things. Once more, thanks very much to all Amazon.com team! My wife actually bought this book for her "English as a Second Language " friend who she is tutoring. My wife has also been a teacher for over 13 years and loves this book - great breakdown of all parts of the English language - great for beginners and terrific review for experienced students/teachers. Really recommend!!

I have used this book several times and throughout my years of English classes I realized that many teachers use it to complement the regular workbooks. My father has used it and loved it, I have used it and loved it and now my wife uses it and is loving it. She often returns from the English class and opens the EGU to find the subject she just learned. She says that sometimes the book explains better in one page what her teacher wasn't able to explain clearly in a couple hours of class.

Good Grammar book not only for learning English as foreign language ,BUT also useful for English speaking ones. In our days ,all languages are "dying" ,as result of getting poorer in words we use. And this among other reasons is result of ignorance or low knowledge of Grammar also.

anche io ho l'applicazione per device mobile, ma non poteva mancare la versione cartacea di questo libro davvero famoso e a ragione. Le spiegazioni sono davvero mirate e di facile comprensione . Indispensabile per la mia biblioteca che studio da sola; ho ottenuto tanto dalla versione di Murphy . Con mia sorpresa ho imparato con facilità quando avevo delle basi scarse. Se a scuola ci avessero fatto usare questo libro sarebbe stato diverso . Lo consiglio , non può deludere nessuno; è un acquisto che dà soddisfazione . Il libro è grande , un vero manuale. Ottimo, curato e anche la carta non è da meno . Bella grafica e disegni colorati . 5 stelle perché adatto a tutti e per tutte le circostanze . È il Top con questo libro chiunque potrebbe imparare l'inglese o rinfrescare la memoria per un ripasso . Per chi fosse all'inizio consiglio della stessa versione e autore : "Essential Grammar in Use" grammatica di base con soluzioni la versione per italiani di Murphy con Lelio Pallini! E solo alla fine, il terzo libro da avere è: "Pratical English Usage" detto anche PEU c'è il libro o l'applicazione per iPhone / iPad .

Good for class work

Ce livre est LE livre que je cherchais ! Il y a 145 minis leçons qui englobe la quasi totalité de la grammaire anglaise. Les leçon sont composées d'exemple, de contre exemple, de rappel et d'explications claires !!! Après chaque leçon il y a une page d'exercices (corrigés en fin de livre !). En plus de cela des exercices complémentaires, des annexes, etc. Attention, l'intégralité du livre est en anglais, donc cet ouvrage n'est pas adapté pour les débutants. La qualité de l'impression est impeccable, la taille du livre passe dans un petit, bref cet article est PARFAIT !
