From Saint Petersburg, previously the Imperial Capital of Russia comes the mighty Grenouer. Founded in 1992 by vocalist Andrey Ind and guitarist Alexander Motor, Grenouer signed with the legendary Mausoleum label late 2012. Originally playing extreme metal, Grenouer gradually introduced melodic elements into their expertly crafted songs resulting into the unique form of metal they now produce. Surely the most prodigious heavy metal group to emerge from the North, Grenouer released Blood On The Face, their seventh album (their debut on Mausoleum) in 2013. Blood On The Face was produced by Dualized & Eddy Cavazza (Mnemic), Anssi Kippo (Children Of Bodom) and Joonas Koto. This team - assisted by Grenouer - forged the band's outstanding musicianship into 12 anthems of hard modern metal, expertly mastered by Mika Jussila at the Finnvox Studio. Several high quality videos will were produced in support of the release. Now, in April 2015 Grenouer will release their brand-new studio album, Unwanted Today produced by Al Bolo, again with assistance from the band. They invited special guests Eddy Cavazza on guitar, and vocalists Demian Von Dunkelwald, Enrico Erk Scutti and Dmitriy Yankovskiy. Grenouer are among the rare breed of heavy metal bands that play with a groove, making a case for creativity in alternative metal. They serve up fat slabs of dense modern alternative metal with memorable melodies, and scorching riffs and hooks. The vocal lines reminiscent of Devin Tonwsend and prog-metal in general, while the guitars produce radical riffs not unlike Meshuggah. This should be the album to bring Grenouer the recognition long deserved. Unwanted Today is an outstanding album full of refreshing invention, time for the world to wake up to the band. Just as Peter the Great, expanded the Tsardom into a huge Russian empire that became a major European power, Grenouer aspire to become a dominating force in global heavy metal.
