Awful user experience: The Polar ecosystem is confusing and unintuitive.
I bought a Polar watch based on my brother’s recommendation—he said it was great for tracking sleep and workouts. I ride twice a week and thought this would be a helpful tool. Unfortunately, this has been the worst tech experience I’ve ever had. At times, using DOS would honestly feel easier. I usually pick up new tech quickly, but this product has been incredibly frustrating. After two years of trying to make it work, I’ve finally decided to switch back to an Apple Watch. I’ll be looking for a cadence meter that actually integrates well with Apple products. If you’re hoping to see heart rate data in the Apple Health app—forget it. Polar doesn’t play well with Apple, and I’ve effectively lost two years of heart health data. Starting over from scratch is frustrating and unnecessary. My biggest complaint is how difficult it is to get all the devices and software to work together. It feels like Polar wants to tightly control everything, making integration unnecessarily complicated. Today was the last straw. I tried to update the time on my M460 using both the app on my iPhone and the web version on my Mac. Nothing worked. Eventually, I found out the only way to do it is directly on the device—completely unintuitive. Why can’t I just update and sync everything from my phone or computer? What’s the point of having an app if you can’t manage all your devices from it? Half the time, my watch connects with sensors, but not the M460. You have to manually assign which sensor goes with which device, which is unnecessarily complicated. Honestly, it’s easier to leave the watch at home and just use the computer. For context, I purchased the heart monitor, the M460, the Vantage V2 watch, and the wheel cadence meter. The watch sometimes doesn’t even charge properly—you think it’s connected, the red lines are aligned, but you wake up and it’s dead. Starting a ride is also a hassle. The M460 insists on finding a GPS signal while you stand still—why can’t it just pull that data from the watch? And when you finish a ride, it often posts twice to Strava. Then you’re forced to choose which one to keep, and if you used different sensors on different devices (e.g., heart rate on M460, cadence on watch), you lose half your data. How does Polar not recognize it’s the same ride? The product team really needs to reevaluate the entire user experience. It shouldn’t be this hard to get a set of devices to work together seamlessly. They must have been using this interface and button and think it just make sence. Straight up set 10 people down who have never used Polar and ask them to get everything to work. See how long it take and if they can do it. Good buy Polar, I have stopped using the watch all together and as soon as the m460 dies i will be done with you for ever. I honestly think that this company think it will make money by harvesting your health data or selling the whole company to another company that think its great.

Eccellente
