Best gaming related purchase in my life!
I purchased this about a month ago and I now play it more than my Xbox 360! I played on a DSi prior to this and loved it as well but this thing is just flat out amazing, I don't know how else to put it. The game selection is large and varied and has a game for everyone, the 3D is pretty neat in some of the games such as Ocarina of time HD although you have to hold it correctly to prevent ghosting, and the graphics are good enough to satisfy anyone but the PC gaming elitist. When the original 3DS came out I kind of scoffed as it just didn't seem that great, fast forward like 2 years and the XL version comes out and after seeing one first person by a friend I was sold, I went home to do some research and it completely dwarfs the PSVita in every way besides graphics so I ordered one the next day. It really is a high quality system and improves upon the DSi in every way besides battery life and is backwards compatable with my DS game collection. My only real complaint is the rather short battery life, if you have the 3d mode on and the online enabled this thing is lucky to last over 5 hours from my experience which is a bit bothersome so you may need to get a portable battery pack for $20 to double the life to 10 hours if you go on a trip or something. If you don't use 3D or online with medium brightness settings I could see you maybe squeezing the battery life to 7 and 14 hours respectably. All in all though if you are just a normal person that doesn't travel much battery life will never be a problem and playing from bed with it plugged in to the wall allows you to play while charging it at home after a long day at work/school. Overall, Nintendo hit the nail on the head with this product. They might be failing in the home console department with the WiiU but this thing is pure gold and there is no other handheld gaming system that can compare overall with it including Sony's offerings.

What the 3DS should have been from the beginning
To start I want to say I have not owned a portable console since the gameboy not even the ds or original 3DS. I have held the 3DS and compared it to the XL and the only legitimate gripe I feel anybody can have is the fact that the XL should have just been the original 3DS. The XL is better in every way. The first thing I instantly came to love about the XL right out of the box was the feel of it. Even though it is bigger than the original it still is light and feels great in your hands. I felt my nieces original 3DS and compared to the XL and the feel is just smoother and rounder than the original. While maintaining it's light weight and smooth makeup it still feels tough enough to survive a couple drops on tile, wood, concrete, or asphalt. The stylus being on the side of the XL as opposed to the back on the 3DS is a much appreciated touch also. The buttons and analog all feel good but just as good as the original 3DS. Now onto the main selling point THE SCREEN!!! I do love the screen and it projects the 3D awesome. The screen truly makes a difference even though it is only expanding the screen so it is just technically stretching the images but they still look great and even though I have heard people say that the games look stretched out I did not not really notice it. The size is really perfect with me as it still fits in even my tightest of jean pockets. The only thing I will warn people about ahead of time is if you are the type of person to be playing on the go a lot like I do be aware that since it is bigger in your pockets that it is very easy to accidentally pop the game cartridge out of the XL. This has happened to me often when put in a tight pocket so always save if you are just putting it into your pocket for a little bit without shutting it off. Overall I really love the feel and look of this and I have never really been a fan of portable consoles until now.

Pretty happy overall
I was pretty happy with this purchase. The item condition was marked as “good” though and I definitely wouldn’t qualify it as that. There’s several scratches both on the shell and on both screens. There’s also a weird discolored spot of pixels right in the middle of the upper screen. It was also really dirty, like some serious gunk but I was able to clean that. Powers on and works great. Charger was a third party charger so I might keep it or buy a different one from Nintendo. Overall happy but definitely would say this one should have been marked one quality level below “good”. There was cheaper options and now I’m wondering if I could have gotten a product in similar condition for cheaper

Nintendo should simplify the set up for parents
This is a good product but, Nintendo, you make it too complicated and that makes me reluctant to buy your products for my kids . SIMPLIFY the set up : Miiverse, Nintendo ID, eShop, product registration, linkage with the Wii..There are too many user IDs, codes, email addresses and stuff to set up. What is this all about any way ? I am really not sure what Miiverse is, what the User ID does or if I buy something in the store it is attached to the device, the user ID, the email address I registered on the store with. This is all very foggy to me. Understand when I buy a product for my kids, I don't want to spend too much trying to figure out. You might think, it doesn't matter if the old Dad doesn't figure it out , the kid will. Not really because the device is online, I have to make sure it is properly protected .. so in doubt I lock everything and buy the games on a media rather dowload.

Excellent for the autistic
This is from personal experience. I own a PS1, PS2 and so on so forth. I shared these consoles with my younger autistic brother but he quickly become bored of them and doesn't bother maintaining them and often lost games or even interest for them. I love sony products and nintendo products as well. One day I came across my old Gameboy Color and was maintaining it and the cartridges for it. When I left for a bit I saw they were gone, my autistic brother took them and was having a blast with it. Seems he was so happy with that, but the downside to it, the batteries. So I thought "hey... what about a nintendo 3DS". So I looked through about all it was capable of and thought it might be too much for him. But hey, the kid's bored constantly and is unable to socialize with people well enough to make friends. So I saved up bit by bit with money on the side to purchase this and 2 games for it. He absolutely LOVED it. He gotten use to the dual screens so quickly and knows when to charge it and takes it everywhere. This little device brought him so much joy, its made him so positive he's started doing other things on the side like getting back to his art projects where he;s even started his own little sketches of mario and luigi. I highly recommend this not just for kids and teens but any autistic fellows out there as well. It works well, the battery supply is impressive and the deliverance of the fun factor is high. Sometimes he lets me try out his 3DS to help on a level or two of his games and I admit they're really fun. This was well worth the price.

The 3DS XL is JUST GREAT!!
The 3DS XL is JUST GREAT!!! By far the better of the two 3DS's so far. Obviously, it's bigger, and it has huge screens to compliment this. However, it's actually much more comfortable to hold and it even feels lighter if that's possible. SYSTEM DESIGN The system has a massive 4.8 inch top screen, with the touch screen only being a bit smaller. The hardware uses a nice matte finish instead of the easily smudged, easily scratched, and far too reflective glossy finish of the original. The matte finish looks really nice and feels far better in the hands. Battery is far larger and lasts about 4-8 hours for me with the 3D off, and 3.5-6.5 with it on, and DS games get about 5-9 hours. The screens are huge and are truly beautiful. However, one of the biggest improvements is one that happened to almost every single original 3DS owner: the scratches. The 3DS XL has fixed the screen scratching problem that has plagued 3DS owners for a long time now. t. The volume switch has been made different as well. The SD Card Slot has been moved over to the right, and the stylus has moved there as well. GRAPHICS Every game I have played on here looks amazing. The new screen is very bright with a lot of color, and the huge screen compliments the games very well. The 3D is far better on here as well. Not only does it look fantastic on the new screen, but the sweet spot has been made larger some how! Sadly, there is no light telling you if the 3D is usable or not, but that's a minor thing and not too noticeable. SOUND The speakers are slightly quieter than the original. Overall highly recommended!!!

I love occasionally taking a break from work stuff to play ...
I bought this for a few reasons. I'm 26 and started a new job this year. It has been stressful. My sister bought the original DS last year when she started her new big girl job as well. I totally get why she did it. I love occasionally taking a break from work stuff to play Smash Bros. 3DS or Mario Kart 7 on this system. It brings nostalgic feelings to me because I grew up playing Nintendo. My first system was the original gray Game Boy. Then, I upgraded to Game Boy Color and then Game Boy Advance. I also had the N64. I remember in my early teens I got the Gamecube when it was new as well as the original DS for Christmas. I spent hours playing Smash Bros. Melee with my friends when I was about 14 or 15. So for 11 years I got too busy and too grown up to buy a new Nintendo system. Well, I do not regret buying this. Some may say some titles like Smash Bros. and Mario Kart are just regurgitated and redone but I love it. It's the reason I'll always love these games. I love how big the screens are as well. I was comparing this side by side with my old DS system and Nintendo has made so much progress. I love this system for both the new technology added as well as the fact that it makes me instantly feel 14 again. Oh, and blue is my favorite color. I feel like this is a purchase I'm going to enjoy for years to come, even when Nintendo discontinues this handheld in the future for a new system. I may not always keep up with buying the latest model of consoles, but I'll always be loyal to Nintendo because that's what I grew up enjoying and one small factor that would bring my friends and I together.

3Ds XL is amazing
Before I bought the console, I expected the 3D to be some kind of lame feature, just there to sell the console. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when I realized the 3D was actually very good. Also, the screen is bright and wide, making it easier to play long periods of time. The only thing that might be a problem for some is the wi-fi: I had a problem myself between my router and the console, so I had to reconfigure my router accordingly. I've looked over on forums and a lot of people are having this problem, but it's fixable, so it's not a big deal.

Exactly what was advertised
I was looking for a 3ds to mod and wasn't about to spend $500+ dollars on a brand new or almost untouched console. The console works perfectly (the battery isn't great but this is an old console so its to be expected) and it came factory reset with a charger and an SD card. The scratches are only an aesthetic issue so I covered mine with stickers to distract from them. Everything came well packaged in a timely manner, I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a 3ds for an affordable price :) (Note: It may not say that I'm a verified buyer because the shipping tracker never updated to say that the product was shipped, but just says "lost" even though I received it)

Works, but…
The product works. Everything works. (Game cards, sd card, volume, mic etc), but it was supposed to be in a “very good” condition. The plug in is damaged, and it came dirty (easily cleanable) and the console hasn’t been restored to its default settings, I had to do it myself. The name of the previous owner was still there, so did the internet networks (wifi). The condition is good but didn’t worth the money for this condition. It should have been classified as “good”, since the plug-in slot is a very important part of the product. Hopefully it charges, at least and the battery seems okay.

Déçu !
Très déçu ! L' état de la console n'est pas belle du tout. La caméra a l'intérieur est égratigner et l'écran aussi. Le dessus est très abîmé aussi.
