Drive is NOS but IS NEW. Works like a charm and there was under an hour of power on time
Just wanted to make sure you all know that this drive IS indeed new, just not produced recently. They stopped manufacturing these drives to make room for higher capacity, newer technology. That being said, I had a drive go down in a RAID 5 from a few years back that has been going non stop and needless to say, I needed to replace the drive. I found this one and it fit the bill perfect and a lot less than the 300+ I paid when I bought them originally. Now if i intended on upgrading, I would get a bunch of 8TB or higher capacity drives but I didn't want to go another grand for a 50% utilization Raid anyway. I just needed to get files off the raid in the first place that weren't accessable previously... and now I can do that, and the drive is performing as it should... If you need to replace a drive in a RAID, this is a no brainer, the drive is in perfect condition and works like it should. If you are starting anew, I wouldn't recommend going this route unless you buy a bunch extra, because THEY AREN'T MADE ANY MORE. That being said I highly recommend seller and this drive regardless...

Solid drive, no issues
Been using these drives for months without issue. They’re relatively quiet and run cooler than other HDDs I’ve bought for a NAS unit I have.

Maestro Holdings jumped through hoops to resolve my issue. Customer service was exemplary.
I ordered six 8Tb SAS drives for a customer server. One failed in about six months and Maestro Holdings responded to my email request for assistance immediately. I sent the info, they sent a return shipment tag, I sent the bad drive out and had the replacement delivered in SIX DAYS! That included the shipping time back to them. I was never without fault tolerance on my server as the installation had a hot spare. I'll be continuing to do business with them. Thanks Brad and the "Maestro Team"!

I have used many of these drives and had a fairly high failure rate. The RMA was easy and so long as these are used in a redundant array are a great buy.

SAS is not the same as SATA
Bought SAS by mistake. Make sure you click SATA! I bought this thinking it was compatible with your average SATA hard drive enclosure... Nope, my bad. This is a special type of drive that only works in server-class hard drive controllers that cost hundreds of dollars. Make sure you choose SATA. Ugh, they should have SATA as the default, not SAS.

DOA Drive
I purchased this as a backup in case I needed more space. A year after purchasing I tried to put this into service. It is DOA. SAS controller won't see it, but it sees all my other SAS drives. I did hours of troubleshooting to no avail. It's got small RUST spots on the steel cover. Seagate says the warranty EXPIRED in 2022. This seller is SELLING OUT OF WARRANTY DRIVES and not stating that in SIMPLE AND CONSPICUOUS LANGUAGE in their ad. Seller is committing FRAUD + THEFT and getting away with it ON A PROCEDURAL TECHNICALITY. Were I to SUE this THIEF, I could win b/c STATUTE OF FRAUD has no time limit, regardless of the procedural and contractual language. The TIME, AGGRAVATION and EXPENSE involved with suing for such a small matter isn't worth it. This THIEF knows that. ALL THIEVES MAKE CALCULATED RISKS LIKE THIS. We are operating in FREE MARKETS. Therefore FREE MARKETS REQUIRE THE SELLERS AND BUYERS TO HAVE CHRISTIAN MORALS. Otherwise, we will all end up in MONOPOLIES like during the DARK AGES. Anyway, BUYER BEWARE! Don't buy from this THIEF!
