I picked up this Tapo L530B colour bulb not expecting much given the price, but it’s actually been a really solid addition and great value for money. Setup was straightforward through the Tapo app and linking it with Alexa only took a couple of minutes. Since then it’s been reliable with no dropouts, which is always my main concern with smart stuff. Brightness is more than enough for a main room light and it dims nicely through the app or voice control. Just worth knowing it won’t work with a traditional dimmer switch, so it’s better on a standard on/off. The colours are better than I expected as well great colour temperature range. The whites go from a warm cosy tone to a cooler brighter light, and the colours are strong enough to actually notice without looking cheap or washed out. In day to day use it’s very responsive. Commands through Alexa are pretty much instant and it reconnects quickly if it’s been turned off at the wall. Only small downside is the usual smart bulb thing where if someone turns it off at the switch, you lose control until it’s turned back on again, but that’s not really a fault with this one specifically. Overall, it just works. Easy to set up, reliable, and does exactly what you’d want from a smart bulb without spending a fortune. Compatible with Alexa and google home. The Atari app oddly takes up a lot of storage space if this is a premium for you but does work very well And easy to navigate.

I bought these smart bulbs for my bedroom, and they are fantastic! Setting them up through the smartphone app was a breeze, and they connected to my Alexa almost instantly. The color range is incredible—you can go from a cozy warm white for reading to a vibrant purple or blue for movie nights. I love being able to dim the lights or change colors just using my voice or my phone without getting out of bed. The brightness is perfect, and there's no noticeable delay. Highly recommend!

Full Review: I bought this Tapo smart bulb to add some ambient colour to my room, and overall, I am highly impressed with its performance. The colour selection is fantastic. The hues are deep, vibrant, and fully customizable through the app. Whether you want a relaxing warm glow for evening reading or a bright, dynamic setup for movie nights, this bulb delivers. The brightness levels are also excellent, easily lighting up a medium-sized bedroom without any issues. Setting it up with my Wi-Fi and smart home ecosystem was quick and hassle-free. I did notice one minor quirk: whenever I flick the physical wall switch on, the bulb quickly flashes orange before instantly settling into its normal, assigned colour. It looks like a brief loading or boot-up sequence. Honestly, it is not that deep or annoying, and it does not affect the performance of the bulb at all once it is running. For the price, you get premium smart features without the premium price tag. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their home lighting.

I love these bulbs. I have one in my livingroom and one in my bedroom and they're connected to my Alexa echo pop, so I can use my voice to turn lights on or off or change the colour. I have also got 2 spare bulbs there for when I ever need them. I have the Tapo app on my phone, and i can change the colour to any mood, there are lots of settings. There are also effects you can choose from, or you can customise your own effect. I have been using these bulbs for the past year, and I've not had to change them yet. You can dim the lights either with the app or your voice, and you can also turn the light up. I have a small flat, so I only need one in my bedroom and one in my livingroom. I still have 2 spare bulbs. You can also control the lights with the Alexa app. There's so many colours to choose from. I absolutely love this whole set up. I really recommend these bulbs, they last a long time and my livingroom one has never been off, it's the layout of my flat, my bedroom is just off the livingroom. These are b22 (bayonet bulbs) not the screw in ones. I give 5 stars because these bulbs have never let me down. They need to be connected to your WiFi. It has Matter and you need the tapo app. When setting the bulb up to your alexa device, it has Matter, which makes it easier for the bulb to connect to your alexa device.

Great Smart Bulb. I've been using several of them in my house for over a year and I have not had to replace them at all yet. If you use iPhone, you can use the Apple Home app if you buy the Matter version, but I've actually preferred using the Tapo app that you can use for it as it's got a better widget and and customisation options. The app comes with many custom effect settings, like a Halloween option one that flashes like a candle in an empty pumpkin, or a a party one that goes crazy. You can also create your own custom effects too. In terms of lifespan, like I mentioned I have been using mine for over a year and no issues as of yet. Very easy installation, just follow the instruction and you'll be good to go. Would definitely recommend this bulb, especially if you want to start replacing your bulbs

I was already using the Tapo App for multiple other smart plugs and devices, so they were the obvious choice for my first venture into smart lighting. The Tapo App is very easy to use, the devices normally easy to set up, and the customisable options offer a great deal of convenience, (though some of the automation takes a deeper dive into settings to set up). I was NOT disappointed by this Tapo smart bulb! The customisation options are virtually endless. You can pick from millions of colours and adjust the brightness until it suits your tastes, then save it as a Preset for instant recall. Where it really shines (pun intended) for me is the white light features available. You can change the 'colour temperature' of the white light from 2500K (very warm light - close to that of a candle flame) right up to 6500K (very cool, bright white, clinical light), then adjust the brightness from 100% right down to just 1%, and save the settings as one of your presets. I liked this so much in my Lounge that I bought more tapo Smart bulbs for other rooms and have set automations for arriving home, (which turns on the lights in the hall area), and leaving home, (which turns off all lights). There are also security options which allow you to set an 'away' mode which turns the light on & off at random, (to save energy you can set this to only happen between chosen times of day or night, or it can be set to start at sunset & stop at sunrise. There are so many excellent and very usable features of this bulb & the Tapo App which makes it an excellent buy. WHen used with other Tapo lights, devices and smart plugs you can create complex automations that make life easier. I highly recommend this tapo Smart Bulb for rooms you want colour options, and for ones you only want white light they do those too!

Ah what can I say?! Have tapo won my smart device love? This arrived and was set up within seconds. Went on to the tapo app, clicked add device, clicked the bulb I was installing, put bulb in light, switched it on and clicked next. It connected to the wifi. It started installing then it was done! But why did I buy this light? We already had smart bulbs, so why did I buy this bulb when there was nothing wrong with my old one. Because this bulb is set up so now turns on automatically when someone rings my tapo doorbell. So instead of me hobbling to the door shouting "hey Google! Turn on front door light" repeatedly as I go, but not quite being heard over kids being kids, or the TV, it now does it for me automatically 😍😍😍😍 That is worth the money of buying a bulb I didn't truly need. Very easy to fit and install. Connected itself to my home app and put itself in the correct "room". Took a second to add it as an automation. Also set it up so when I or my husband come home the light (which is situated in the hallway by the front door) turns on so we can see easily where to put our door key, and not trip over a cat on the way through the door. Bonus features is it changes colour, you can either set a colour or you can have it set to party mode where it changes every second or so, or a more relaxed mode and it slowly changes to other colours. The girls threw themselves a "crab rave" under it within moments of it being set up. As my other bulbs may die over the years I will definitely be looking to tapo to be the replacement.

Really impressed with this Tapo smart bulb. Setup was quick and straightforward, it connected to my Wi-Fi without any of the usual messing around, and Alexa picked it up easily. I mainly use it as a bedside light and the voice control works perfectly for turning it on and off, changing the brightness and selecting colours. It is also completely silent, unlike my previous smart bulbs which used to make a slight hissing noise. So far I would genuinely give it 10/10 for ease of setup and everyday use. Very pleased with it and would happily recommend it.

I mainly use schedules and energy monitoring, which have been accurate so far.
