... Kota and expected my new 50 Max to be good and toughly made
This is my third Minn Kota and expected my new 50 Max to be good and toughly made. No disappointments: The rheostat type throttle and extension handle worked perfectly. I whacked a couple logs with the prop - no damage. It has a good strong push to keep you straight under windy conditions and the maxima feature works better than ever - I had to run 2/3rds throttle for about half a mile through a shallow channel to reach the main lake, then trolled over four hours with a five year old size 27 deep cycle battery from Walmart and still had plenty left. This is the only brand electric I'd buy.

An Excellent Motor.
This thing is a Monster -- a very robust motor. My 14 Foot fiberglas "Ski Barge" is a lightweight boat with a wide beam, and I wanted more power more quietly than the Old Minn Kota 17-Lb thrust unit I have been using. The Endura MAX 50 is very powerful and very quiet. The Forward/Reverse control is Excellent, and the Electrical Cables and connections are quite adequate. It would help if the Mounting Screws were placed a little LOWER, like the Older Units -- a Better Grip on the Transom is important with such a powerful motor. The only problems I'm having is the Fit -- this motor is a bit Big for my small boat -- the Tiller Control Handle tends to Hang Up on various parts of my boat when the Motor is NOT in use, and has been Tilted Up. The Motor is VERY heavy, and the instructions are very clear that you must SLIDE the shaft Inboard a LOT when Not in use, to balance the heavy weight of the motor. This results in minor problems, with such a small boat.

I bought this to push my 10' Livingston boat. ...
I bought this to push my 10' Livingston boat. I have an older Minn Kota 30 lb thrust motor, but I am hoping that this will give me (1) a little bit more going home speed when I am way out on the lake and (2) a little more wind-bucking power when the breezes come up. I will amend my review later this spring after I have been out on the water several times. Added: 11/25/2020 This bigger electric motor works well on my Livingston. My older, smaller motor will push the Livingston about 2-3 MPH with me in it. This one gives me about 4-5 MPH. While that may not seem like a lot, when you are headed back in with a little wind it doesn't make a difference.

It is a nice upgrade from the previous version
We bought this after a similar model we bought a couple of years ago was stolen. It is a nice upgrade from the previous version, which I had no issues with. The battery life is longer and the battery charge indicator is very helpful so that you can use the full battery life without having to worry about rowing back to the launch. It does well is going through weeds also.

Loud grinding noise and vibration
Purchased this a little over a month ago and just had a chance to use it. Very loud grinding noise going forward and reverse. The noise is worse in reverse. Blade even feels like something is grinding when turning by hand. Only had a month to return and I didn't bother checking it before the window closed so I think I might be stuck. Was looking at cheaper model and thought I would spend the extra on Minnkota since it was a brand name and should last longer. Looks like this should be a good motor in theory but make sure you check it out in out in the return window. I'm sure this noise and vibration are cause by an error in production as no motor would ever be designed to work like this. I have had Minnkota motors in the past that did not make this noise. Hopefully, I will be able to get this fixed but it looks like the nearest shop is 150 miles away.

I spent extra to get the best because I am tired of the BS!
If you can afford it you should consider the Endura Max trolling motors and a Li Time battery. I used mine with a Li Time lithium iron phosphate 100amp trolling battery in a 16ft Jon boat with two men onboard on a lake and the motor was very fast for a trolling motor. Left a wake behind. After a few hours of testing I charged the battery with the Li Time 20 amp charger. It took about 20 minutes. Very happy. It’s your boat. You work hard. Why not buy the best, have a better time and not worry about anything. Yes there is a reason I bought the 50 and not the 55 or smaller. It’s the windings not the price. The 40lb is what is required. Bigger is more efficient to a point. The liFePo4 batteries working voltage is 12.8v. Turns the trolling motor almost into an outboard and can hold that voltage until the battery is dead. Can charge from dead 4000 times over ten years.

This motor pushes my canoe all over the lake! ...
This motor pushes my canoe all over the lake! I have never been below 1/2 on my battery level after about 3-4 hours of use. I'll run it at max for about 10 minutes at a time to quickly get where I need to go and the rest of the time I run it at half. I also purchased the 85ah battery. It's heavy, but, worth it.

Great trolling motor that saves power
Took this out on the lake for a spin and have nothing bad to say about this trolling motor. This motor was our primary source of propulsion the entire day as gas motors are not allowed on the conservation area lake. Solid construction, easy to use. The Endura MAX is definitely worth it if you're concerned about your battery usage; I did notice a significant difference compared to the Endura C2 (which I've used in the past). The prop it comes with is Minn Kota's weedless one (two blades) and it did a great job pushing our boat around without weed jams. The battery indicator is nice, though redundant if you already have a Minn Kota power center for your battery.

Does not work as advertised
I’ve had a one of this brand for four years and finally gave up the ghost so I figured I’d buy a new one. Very bad mistake. It was delivered a few weeks ago but due to health issues and bad weather I haven’t been able to get out on the lake until today . Great weather for fishing ! Put the motor on the transom and reversed off the dock. As soon s it started up there was a massive vibration in low backup mode. Then I went forward, also in slow. Absolutely terrible vibration and loud. Tried it for twenty minutes at different speeds, didn’t matter what I did, checked the prop but it was good. It sounds and vibrates like an old dodge truck with a busted piston and with no power. I do not recommend this motor. I will be trying to get my money back or a replacement !

Lot of power, with a few minor issues.
It has many fixation components made of plastic, which makes me nervous when thinking about future durability. The arm extender is a great addition, but impossible to remove once it is assembled, which makes transportation after use more challenging. The battery indicator does not seem to be very accurate so do not rely 100% on its reading. It is very quite, and pushes very well. All in all, I am happy with the purchase although perhaps I coulda been okay with a 30 pound at a third of the price of this one.
