Three simple yet profound concepts are presented, the need for literacy; curriculum, and instruction. Nothing more and nothing less. Excellent read and super practical!

This is an excellent resource for district leaders and school principals. It would be a great book for an entire Administration team to read together and do a self evaluation of the systems in place in their schools.

Is less more? Leading with focus takes the education of students back to the basics. Gives insight into the problems teachers and school face and strategies to use that are researched based and successful. Put reading and writing in all subjects - what was old school is new again! Yea!

I really like how the text models it's recommendations for clarity, focus and redundancy. The fundamentals for School improvement are content rich curriculum, literacy and effective instruction!!

Those who read and found value in Focus already may have implemented some of the strategies outlined in Leading with Focus. For those interested in incorporating the elements of Focus and want a succinct, straightforward framework to begin with, Leading with Focus provides that framework. As the author cautions, though, this book is not the "silver bullet." The recommendations must be adjusted to meet the context of each school or district.

Really helped us focus our efforts in our department toward developing good teaching that will prepare our kids for college and beyond.
