If you use the split screen mode with the cameras in different rooms can you hear audio from two rooms or do you have to choose one room?

When in split screen, the audio you will hear is from the camera the monitor is set on at this moment. You will see the set camera marked in RED on top of the screen. This is where the sound will come from. You can either easily switch to the other camera with the "Camera Switch Button" or set the monitor on automatic SCAN mode and it will switch between the cameras every 10 seconds. Hope this helps.

Does this monitor scan between the rooms? If my toddler wakes up and the monitor is set on babys room will it notify me that my toddler is up?

You can set it to switch automatically between the paired cameras and it will automatically switch every 10 seconds. Also, you can sert the monitor to Split Screen mode and you will see both cameras on the smae screen side by side.
