Is this solid wood or pressed board?

Mine is solid wood but I bought it in 2017. it was a really nice storage rack and still have it. Hope this helps.

is this rod holder made in the usa.?

No idea. The wood is rather cheap but that doesn't mean it's made overseas (China).

Are the hooks on the top part big enough to use for holding pool cues?

Great question and great idea! This will work but I would recommend using it in the horizontal position because of the weight to the cues. Rush Creek Creations Team

I have a large diameter rod. it is 21mm diam. can this rack hold my rod?

I won’t recommend this fishing rod holder. They fall out too easy.
