Storite 2nd Bay 9.5mm Universal Caddy for Laptop, 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD, Plastic

First to mention it is a genuine review. Coming to the review ,I installed my original hdd into the optical drive bay of (Dell Inspiron 3542 i34005U) using this caddy and new ssd into the main bay. Here are a few points: 1) Ease of installation-The caddy comes with a screwdriver and was easy to install. Just a few screws to tighten and you are done. 2)Value for money: Unlike other caddy it has a good build and works very well. Note: This one does not come with a switch as mentioned in other reviews as the newer caddy are optimised and don't need dip switches. Also has a built-in led indicator(blue-red). The caddy is working fine and is getting detected . Will update soon if some error occurs.

Built in quality not so bad. Provide the tools along with it. So, self installation became easy. Overall satisfied

This is really must have product if you have a dual HDD setup in your laptop. When I bought my first SSD (Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-75E250BW) from Amazon for my Dell Inspiron 15 3542, I was thinking of a external SATA to USB Converter + Case for my normal HDD, but I had to carry the case everywhere I go. With this Storite Caddy, I don't have to worry about that. This fits perfect and is quality product (see the attached photo to see the fit). Also, if anyone's worried like me that if the drive is gets ejected after pressing the eject button on the case, no it does not. So go ahead and buy this product! FYI...You can buy a external laptop DVD ROM SATA to USB converter as well, which I did, just in case.

The DRIVE CADDY for SATA SSD has design problem. I had to open all the screws to fit in my Crucial BX500 256GB SSD. It would not fit otherwise and not matter how reasonably hard I pushed it would not click into the socket. For the price I think it is not a good buy. The reason I gave 3 stars is just because of the hassle I had to go through. Otherwise it works alright when plugged in to the MB.

Excellent product. This Caddy is of universal type i.e. it works seamlessly if the dimensions of CD/DVD drive is same and the drive is of SATA type. The package includes screws and a screw driver also. If you know how to open your CD/DVD drive, it takes just two minutes to fix it. Approximately a year ago, I've ordered the similar product on a famous online portal (A*iEx*p***s). After 6 months, they showed the status as delivered! I lost money as well as valuable time. The supplier was from China. Amazon and SaiTech IT delivered this in a week (the delay is due to Gati courier but within committed date range) made my theoretical view practical. Using 750GB HDD in it. Functionality is seamless. It's a pretty hardware connection box i.e. just plug n play! Thanks to SaiTech for offering such innovative products and to Amazon for listing such suppliers. Let's be patriotic and encourage Indian suppliers. All the best!
