ZINUS 5 Inch Metal Smart Box Spring / 700 lbs Mattress Foundation / Strong Metal Frame / Easy Assembly, Queen

I purchased the ZINUS 5 Inch Metal Smart Box Spring over two years ago, and it has proven to be an excellent investment for my bed setup. Here are my thoughts on this product based on my experience: Pros: Easy to Assemble: The assembly process was incredibly straightforward. The box spring came with clear instructions and all the necessary tools, allowing me to put it together in about 30 minutes without any hassle. The parts fit together perfectly, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. Lightweight: Despite its sturdy construction, the box spring is relatively lightweight. This made it easy to maneuver and position in my bedroom. It's a great option for those who might need to move it around or set it up alone. Durability: After two years of daily use, the ZINUS Metal Smart Box Spring is still going strong. There has been no noticeable wear or tear, and it continues to provide stable and reliable support for my mattress. The metal frame is robust and shows no signs of bending or sagging. Design: The 5-inch height is perfect for those who prefer a lower bed profile. It provides ample support without adding unnecessary height, maintaining a sleek and modern look. Cons: Aesthetic: While the metal frame is functional and sturdy, it might not appeal to everyone aesthetically. I bought this to lower our bed for easier access as we age. We replaced our 9" split king foundations with this one. I had to build it on the bed as we don't have enough spare floor space upstairs and didn't want to maneuver it up the stairs once built. It took me about an hour to assemble, move the mattress, remove the old foundations, and install this one. Pointers, based on previous reviews I have read: -Box was delivered directly by Amazon and was in good shape. No damage to internal parts. I can see how that would be different if it were handled by common carriers over several transfers. It's packaged more like a retail box than a shipping box. -Hardware is in a molded package and does contain a couple of spare parts. -The included tools are a joke. Thankfully I have plenty of tools and was able to use my own. If I remember correctly a 10mm box wrench and a 7mm allen socket made the job much easier. Careful though! I almost collapsed one of the tubes over-tightening a nut or two. This is because the included wrench is only about 4 inches long vs. the 8" wrench from my toolbox. -Part fitment was spot on. Everything was labelled correctly and fit the first time. -The cover. I have read numerous reviews about how hard this sucker is to put on so I prepared myself for a fight. What I discovered on unpacking it is that it has this handy little diagram on it showing the long side with a pictograph relating that to cross-member orientation. Good start! This makes it easy to orient after unzipping the bottom. Lined it up, pulled the bottom under and the top over. Lined up the corners, very easily, and started zipping. Zipped it all the way around with absolutely not issues at all. This was the easiest part of the entire process. I am glad I got one that fit well. YMMV. Time will tell how durable this is but it seems sturdy enough for our use.

Before I get into the review, it's important to know this product is NOT a box spring. It's a metal foundation. There is a difference between the two. You can Google it for more details but the traditional box spring actually contains spring coils similar to a mattress. The purpose of the box spring coils is that when paired with a mattress, it works to take in some of the shock from normal use, as well as serve to help limit any undo wear to the mattress. So with that said, this product is a FOUNDATION, not a box spring. Now that we have the product clarification out of the way, now for the actual review. Our soon-to-be 3 Y.O. has been sleeping in her toddler bed (converted from her crib) and thought it was time for her to move to a regular bed. She is potty trained and we decided there's really no reason to keep her in the toddler bed. Luckily our crib is a 4-in-1, with the last conversion being a full-size bed. After researching online, I found that getting a low-profile box spring is preferred for toddlers so they can get in & out of bed. Otherwise the size of a mattress + box spring + bed frame would be too high for her. I tried shopping for a low profile box spring locally at various mattress stores and couldn't find anything cheaper than over $100 (plus they wanted $50 for delivery). So I just ended up finding this product on Amazon along with the mattress. For those of you wondering, I paired it with this product: Home Life Harmony Sleep 8" Pocket Spring Luxury Mattress, Full, White . Assembly was easy and took about 15-20 minutes. The instructions just consisted of pictures, so you just match the pieces in the picture. One reason I am docking a star is because one of the support bars on one of the pieces welded incorrectly. It actually caused the piece to not match up with the bolt hole. I had to "bend" the piece in order for it to line up with the bolt hole. In addition, some spots of the metal where it wasn't coated (metal spots near the weld were exposed) showed signs of minor rust. With those issues aside, this product makes for a VERY STURDY foundation. Fully assembled, it does not bend at all and is a perfect platform for the mattress. I do like how the product comes with a cover (to make it appear like traditional box springs). I just hope that no one jumps on it when exposed because I distinctly remember jumping on the box springs when I was a kid. Otherwise they'll slip right through. Good product!

Very easy to put together! Works as it's supposed to. Full size doesn't translate to 140X200. It's a bit short, but we have it on top of the flat bed slats to keep in place. Should sell in cm.

I will always buy this type of box spring from now on. A bit of pain to put together. But once you got it. It’s simple. Instructions could be better. However. Very sturdy. I don’t see it breaking like wood. And if you have tight spaces it will always fit in your room !

This was extremely easy to assemble, it comes with all the tools that you need to make is as simple as possible, could not have been easier from start to finish....(when you don't have "words" with your other half when doing a build it yourself project.....you know it was simple :) !!!) The boxspring is sturdy and fits perfectly.....not much else you can add as it is literally a boxspring and nothing too exciting!!!

Really enjoy that this is metal and not wood. It was quite easy to assemble! Some of the screws that were fused in already were stripped but it was still fine to assemble.

Very good box spring if you are looking for an affordable one you found it and it better that it's all one piece
