Excellent book full of wisdom and practical advice. I really love seeing parenting from a truly Biblical perspective like this (no ‘spare the rod spoil the child’ here). The chapters are short and I can read them in 5-10 minutes each morning during my quiet time before the kids wake up. It helps me set the tone for my day and gives me encouragement and something to focus on. Highly recommend!

It surprised me and caught me totally off guard the first time I got angry at my toddler. He was my second born, and my first born was at an age where was certainly ascerting his own will. I had amanaged to be a composed and kind mother so far and I thought that it would be possible to do it all the time. I was so wrong! I then found the No More Angry MOB group on FB. That group, and the founders were a God-send. I discovered that I had several triggers and learning to identify them helped me be better prepared to respond to them and my littles. I was part of this group when triggers was a daily question followed up by advice and comments and it blessed me so I was so excited and thankful when Wendy and Amber announce Triggers would become a book. I love the way the book is organized, the way it begins with a personal story followed by a biblical and practical approach to a particular trigger and a prayer at the end. It is not a "How-to-step-by-step" book, it will not solve all your problems and t will not change you immediately into a happy mom who always respond with a cheery tone every time. Rather, this book will challenge you to look deep within, to address your own heart, to discover and identify and name your triggers, it will point you to Scripture, it will encourage you and help you pave the way to change your reactions into a proactive approach. It will provide you with helpful bible verses that you can memorize or put on your kitchen and go to them when you're facing a situation with your people. If God has put in your heart a desire to be a mom who speaks truth seasoned with LOVE and GRACE and GENTLENESS, this is a very practical book for you. Give it a chance!

Such a great book! As a mom to three small children (3 boys, 3 and under), parenting can be hard! Like cry in my milk, angry momma, I can't do this anymore hard! My oldest is a strong willed little man, just like his momma. I grew up in a house where yelling and losing your temper was just the status quo. I vowed that wouldn't be me as a parent, but as things became more difficult, more real, I found it was easier said than done. I knew I had to do something, but didn't know what. Then I heard about this book on the God Centered Mom podcast (also awesome! ) and thought I would give it a try. All I can say is it has been literally life changing. This book is not about changing your kids, it's about changing your heart! Drawing near to Christ and letting him sustain you through the most difficult of times. Changing your thinking from a poor me, victim attitude, to I can do this, because the Bible says I can do All Things through Christ! And I can! My children are a beautiful gift from God and it is MY job to teach them, to be their first glimpse of God's great love for them. Hard to do a good job at that when flying off the handle all the time. I sill struggle, but am getting so much better! My husband and sister have seen a difference and commented on my reactions. God uses our children to refine us, to make us better and draw us near to him. I tend to be an overachiever, so I was devastated at my lack of self control. And how can I expect self control from my babies, if I can't model it for them? This book has really changed my way of thinking. Now I look at the hard situations and see them as opportunities for me to shine! To be like Christ, to do what is right! One of my favorite lines from the book: " Every challenging moment with my child can be a victory for ME, even if it is not for THEM." Even if they are bad, even if I haven't sleep or showered in days, even if everything is falling apart, I can still make the Choice to behave right. Thank you for writing this book! One of my favorite parenting books! I tell everyone about it

I definitely think this is a helpful tool for parents both men and women. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because once in one of the chapters they put a verse that had nothing to do with their point and they should have used a different verse. They were correct but the verse was taken outta context and shouldn't have been there. Also in one of the chapters they referenced the msg Bible which is not a true verse of the Bible its a bad interpretation from a guy who thought he was helping the world better understand the Bible but instead butchered it. So I had to referenced my own Bible for the correct verses so that I could have a better understanding. So all in all it's good but definitely take it with a grain of salt. Hope this helps.

This book is for moms and dads ... Love how it keeps pointing back at how you need to change and to stop and take a look at yourself. Causes you to stop blaming everybody else or everything else. Thanks for writing a book so easy to read... I'll definitely keep going back it.

Livro maravilhoso. Fala de cada gatilho que pode nos tirar do sério em relação a nossa casa e aos nossos filhos e anos ensina combate-los com a palavra de Deus. Pena que ainda nao foi traduzido para o português.

Encouraging to moms. Must have.

Relevant, relatable and practical. Recommend to parents with children of toddler to teen ages. The earlier you read this book the better equiped you are dealing with your children sooner.
