Most important hunting accessory!
I used to be among those who didnβt use a safety line or even a harness when in a tree stand. Now thereβs no excuse with how simple these are to use and I trust they would hold me just fine if I were to fall out! They seem to hold up well to the weather and I have a tendency to leave them out year round.

Must have for hunters
Have always hunted from blinds but in the last few years I have started hunting more from hang on stands and a life line is a must have. Easy to use easy to setup and will save your life. Very durable and the covered locking carabiner is a great touch for going up without making too much noise.

It can save your life!
I purchased the HSS-LifeLine Safety System after my brother broke his heel from out of a tree stand as he was descending. Granted he was using a climber, and the HSS-LifeLine Safety System, but it got the family thinking! We have many permanent stands, and what happened to Joe could have happened to anyone. The HSS-LifeLine Safety System is a thick-well constructed rope. It comes with a strong carabineer and the prussic knot is durable with a large opening β¦much larger knot that the MUDDY lifeline system. That is where the benefits end! The HSS-LifeLine Safety System 3 pack is also about $20 more than the MUDDY Lifeline system 3 pack. The Muddy rope is a little thinner, but just as strong. It also doesnβt come with a carabineer; which I am figuring is the difference in price. I tried pricing out making them myself, but it was nearly a wash considering the ridiculously strong carabineer HSS includes with the ropes. The HSS-LifeLine Safety System will do what it is designed to do β save your life! I used them this past season. On very cold days the prussic knot froze, but with a little tugging it became free and slid up and down the host rope as intended. However, if all your safety harness comes with carabineers, which the HSS-Safety Harnesses DO NOT, then you are probably better off going with the Muddy system. There have been some critical reviews on different hunting blogs; archerytalk.com, stating that HSS is not using the correct rope β static v. dynamic fibers. I found the literature very fascinating, but it will not deter me from putting my life in its fiber strands! In short, any LifeLine System can save your life. If you have a carabineer then choose the MUDDY or another brand. If not, go with HSS. My entire family uses HSS-harnesses. It only made sense, for us, to use the matching accessories. However, our next set will most likely be the MUDDY β¦why not try both if you have multiple stands.

You shouldn't be in a tree without this
I find older and more stubborn hunters the worst when it comes to safety. They all have a story about how they fell out, or knew someone who fell, to injury or worse. It's more common that people like to acknowledge. Here's the kicker, none of those people had harnesses or life-lines. It's a must in any tree for me. A decent harness and a life-line. Even when saddle hunting, you have a harness attached to the tree at a few points. Same concept here, but with a sturdy rope that will catch your fall. The knots are good, the rope is thick, and the locking carabiner is solid. Want less noise? Wrap the carabiner with moleskin. Use a harness and use a life-line. Prevent injury. 'Nuff said.

I have suffered two falls while hunting so I was looking forward to seeing how this worked. Tested it on one of my trees at 3 feet up. Worked like a dream. Three feet or fifteen feet...make no difference, you are not going to hit the ground, going up or coming down. I have bought more pieces to the system for myself but if you have a good harness already...this is really all you need. Watch their videos to get it right but it is a really easy thing to set up. The last fall fractured my back (T11) and put me out of work for 3 months. This lifeline is CHEAP insurance.

Unlike the other user reviews. I do use this brand HHS. Would never think about using another brand. People who say they donβt like it cause of a stupid thing. Are rookies that should understand what this supposed to do. I highly recommend it. And will be buying one more. I do switch them up every 2 years as instructions say. That way no issues or falling
