PERFECT! this is knit, not wool. it has an additional 1/2” band that stretches. it will stay in place and will stretch to a man’s size head.

Well I'll be damned, ... another "beret" made in China. This is the second "Beret" that has arrived in the past two days, obviously from differing sellers. If you do the work, you'll find my first review on the first "Beret" that arrived. This review is for this item, from "Kangaroo". First off, ... a "Beret" from China is like an American flag from Syria! Not much can be done about that I guess, as I suspect at least 90% of the items we have in our homes have been 'made' in China. I'll beat on China at another time. This Beret (hat to simply call it a hat) is certainly well made, (as was the first) but the material appears to be a bit thicker in content than the first I received. I can see the 'weave' when held against a lamp, but not as loose a weave as the first. The packaging (inner and outer bag) were both the same, as were the dimensions. This Beret however shows a definite difference in the material, and I believe it IS of a wool blend as stated, which makes this Beret a bit stronger when handling, ... and a bit more comfortable to wear. It seems to have a bit more 'stretch' than the first (100% wool) I received. The color is true as shown (black), and the 'drape' is really nice. The construction is better than the first I received, perhaps due to the lighter material and it's inability to hold a stich> THIS BERET, ... certainly appears to be solid in construction, maybe due to the addition of another material (poly). It holds it's shape well, ... and certainly lets one know there is wool content, as it can be a bit irritating on the skin of the forehead. My personal opinion on this Beret is this, ... forgetting China at this point. Pros: Very well constructed, ... a bit heavier than a 100% wool, ... but nice and warm when worn. Minimal irritation (itchiness upon skin), firm head band with an excellent 'drape' to ones side. Very minimal "fragmented" surface lint as opposed to the 100% wool. While not as tight a weave as I'd like, ... this Beret is superior to the 100% wool edition. In either case, "hand washing" with a mild wool soap is needed. Cons: Made in China (not France or U.S.A.), ... other than that, ... I can't really find one! I'm giving this Beret a 4 star, simply due to it's competition with other China editions. I think if a blend of 75/25 (wool / poly) were made, this Beret would be unbeatable. A really nice edition of the "Beret"!

I love this beret. One of the best berets I’ve ever purchased. It really fits on my head with no problem and I love how it looks on me. Definitely would recommend!!

for the price this hat was fine for a halloween costume but it was a bit small and did not fit great on my head. also it didn’t fold nicely like berets should and just kinda “popped up” and made me look a bit like a red mushroom

Great price for a nice little beret! I got this to go with a birthday gift for my nieces mom, which was a set of painting supplies she had asked for. I thought this would be a nice addition and it was a hit as the very first gift so she could wear it while opening her other ones! It is wool so it will pick up bits of debris and dust, so keep a lint roller on hand since it is black! Came flat in a plastic cover, was exactly as described, and a great price point. The wool is stiff so the hat may sit a bit awkwardly at first but gets softer with use and more floppy. Very thick material, good quality.
