I've been using these expanding file folders for years. They are sturdy and hold up very well. Although I don't think they can hold a solid 5" of paper without distorting, they do the job well for larger volumes. I would only use about 3" - you can probably put in more, but they may lose their strength and structural capacity at some point. I also like that you get 10 in the pack. Just what I needed to finish up my filing project!
