one of the handiest cutting tools i've ever used.count your fingers before and after using this tool. its Really Sharp. i used it for trimming a fringe of cloth backing from the edges of thick glued panels. the angle offset allowed me to get the cutline exactly where i wanted it, unlike regular straight scissors.be careful. the option to pinch your fingers between the handles is readily available. and use the blade lock when it is not in use.

Wish I'd know about this product sooner! It is sharp and able to cut through even outdoor area rugs. My trash company requires rugs to be cut up into smaller pieces. Nearly impossible with most tools. This one (as long as you remember to keep the blades level with the cut and not angled) cuts easily. You still may wear out your hands with the effort but it's doable and not painful, just tiring. I suspect the blades will dull after several uses but the price is right and I can buy another one if necessary. It also worked really well on a super-heavy cardboard box that my box knife couldn't get though.

It cuts through pretty thick wool carpet well. The locking mechanism will not keep it shut, which isn’t great, but for the price it did the job well enough.

Made quick work of an area rug!!! My building tried to charge me a lot to dispose of an old gross area rug for being oversized and this made it easy to cut it up to fit in regular trash bags - took 10 min max. Scissors hadn't worked at all but this was great - and I don't even have strong hands!

I really appreciate this pair of scissors, and as described, great for cutting through rug fabrics. I had to do some home maintenance, and they came in very handy - even though I'm left-handed - which says something - they must be even more comfortable for regular Northpaws. They cut smoothly and handle sturdy fabrics without any issues. Good purchase.
