Great product and great price!! Easy to apply and works as described. Follow the directions to make sure the adhesive takes. I applied this to a brand new grill so it stuck very well and is still sticking through a lot of cooks. However, I gave the excess to my brother in law who used it on his 10 year old grill and it worked like a charm. Keeps more smoke in your grill and gives you better temp control. Take your time to do it right and you will have no complaints.

Does what it does, easy enough and does it well. I don't think it even took five minutes to install. Holding up great so far.will definitely be buying more for other projects. If it will keep the smoke in , I'm thinking should work great for keeping the odors out on a budget diy hunting clothes box.oh, customer service is especially polite and helpful at fire black too, give it a try, you won't be disappointed

Worked fairly well if you install it right. I had lots of felt fuzz coming off during install but it still works.

Took 30 min or so to clean the smoke off the lid (91% isopropanol), but after that the tape stuck well. Seals the lid very well... no smoke leaking from lid now, even when the wind blows. I used short sections of this gasket on the edges of the Traeger folding shelf--where the shelf hits the legs when folded down.

We have a Masterbuilt Smoker that was constantly a struggle to maintain temperature and smoke billowed out around the doors. Even though the packaging states it's a Big Green Egg Gasket Kit, this product was the exact width we needed to work for our Masterbuilt smoker. I applied this around the perimeter of both doors and still have a good bit left on the roll. Do read the instructions included with the roll. There's a couple of good tips on how to easily remove the backing and to not stretch the material as you apply it. I also thoroughly cleaned the surface area around the door with denatured alcohol before applying the self stick Nomex. At this point, I'm in the 12-24 hour wait mode (also suggested in the instructions) before firing up the smoker. I fastened the doors after the application and it looks this product is going to be the ticket for improved performance and better temp/smoke control.

The stickum works well if you get the old stuff off first; I eventually used a brush on my drill. This product seals very well. I can tell because when I put the cherry chunks on to smoke, all the smoke goes out the top, none leaks at the seal But you also have to follow the directions: once the new gasket is in place, loosen the hinge bolts so that the top of the BGE seats, then retighten.

Even after extensive surface prep where I was installing on my OK Joe's offset smoker, I haven't been able to get more than 2 long cooks out of the gasket around the fire box and no more than 4 cooks out of the gasket around the smoke chamber until it begins peeling or falls off entirely with the lift of the lid mid-cook. I could understand it failing after several cooks or after a few months time if I wasn't as proactive with cleaning, seasoning, and covering my smoker. Okay for what it is, as it does seal well while it's still attached. However, as I shouldn't have to replace it THAT often, I'll be looking for other alternatives.

Worked like a charm once I figured out how to peel the backing off. I was convinced it was defective and was ready to call the seller. Hint !!! Once you have your piece cut , take a small pointed pen knife and at the cut end of the gasket material start slowly to pick the edge of the felt from the paper backing.... Do not try to peel the felt/nomex from the paper or the nomex will tear away from the paper backing , making it unusable . As you start to pick , the paper and nomex will separate leaving a transparent thin shiny adhesive on the gasket material . At that point only peel and stick a few inches at a time , and try not to pull and stretch it. I used this on my horizon 16" horizontal smoker which I thought was fairly air tight, but I'll tell you it made a huge difference . It's good stuff !

Bought this for a replacement gasket for my Big Green Egg. Unfortunately it wouldn't stick at all to the egg so had to return.

There's no adhesion after I peel the paper backing off. There is a slight tacky feeling but doesn't stick on anything.
