This unit is awesome. What I needed it was more unconventional but it worked flawlessly. I have a DVR 16 camera system that I originally mounted in a closet in one bedroom. Now I have an office in a different room and although I can watch the cameras remotely through an app I needed to be able to get into the settings of this system and be able to access stuff you can't from the app.Now as many know trying to transmit through brick or plaster is impossible. I needed to be able to have a monitor, keyboard and mouse accessible in my office so that I didn't need to move 16 cctv siamese camera wires. This unit solved it all. Ran one cat 5 outside under my siding and boom.Now im thinking of the tons of other applications I could use this on.If you want a reliable way to extend a computer or dvr monitor , keyboard , and mouse or whatever other usb device this is your unit. Hands down no questions asked.!!!Installation took 24 seconds to plug it in. Maybe about 10 mins for me to run a 150 foot cat 5 cable. Plug and play. Unit has been working ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS for 30 days now.

As a professional who installs hundreds of security camera systems, I can confidently say this HDMI KVM Extender is one of the best I’ve used so far. I was a bit concerned at first because there were some mentions of artifacting in other reviews. So here is my assessment having "rolled the dice".First, make sure you are using a proper HDMI monitor. (At first I tried using an older DVI-only monitor and got significant disruption to the signal. I was using an HDMI-to-DVI adapter, but that is a very hacky thing to do since they are different protocols.)When I tried it on a TV and/or monitor with proper HDMI input, it worked "very well". I've tested it out on a RPG game running on a workstation on the other side of the house (using CAT5 cables of I'm guessing ~50ft) to see how it handles demanding graphics, and it has very light artifacting. Specifically, if I look at the monitor less than 1ft away, I can see a small number of pixels flickering randomly for a small fraction of a second. But sitting 2ft away or more, and I can't even see them.I took an image of my monitor and at one moment in time, and I think I can spot 5 pixels being disrupted, which you can see in the red boxes I added. Again, they flicker on/off so fast, and so randomly, that you don't notice unless you're looking for it less than 1ft away. I expect that if I used CAT6+ cables, then there would be even less artifacting.As someone who doesn't intend to use the workstation for entertainment, this artifacting is perfectly acceptable -- my workstation is big and noisy, and I am glad to be able to keep it from from where I work. And even if I were to use it for gaming/entertainment, I would not personally be dissatisfied.I also discerned absolutely no time lag with the USB connections. So overall I am very pleased with this product.

It was not plug and play for me. I plugged eventing in and no signal. After pushing the emid button a couple times and powering off and on, it came up. My mouse did not work, the usb cable provided was defective. I replaced it with one of mine and it now works.

I hooked it up and it just worked! No configuration, no drivers, just a remote workstation for my PC. Would recommend any day!

great product. it worked perfect. Just 1 Cat5E cable for HDMI and USB. Great for NVR or DVR.

Very happy with it, simply plug it in and it works great. Perfect image and no delay/latency at all, you can actually use it to play video games remotely. Works right from the moment you turn on the PC so you can even use it to get into your bios settings. It sends audio through the HDMI cable (as long as your pc and monitor support it). Works with logitech wireless keyboard/mouse but depending on your PC if you want to get into bios you might need to use a wired keyboard so it responds quick enough to catch the bios prompt. It wont transfer data over USB and it wont work with USB headset, it will only send usb keyboard/mouse inputs. The ethernet wire must be direct, it doesnt work through a switch because it doesnt use networking protocols, needs a dedicated wire from one box to the other.

I am able to extend the mouse (USB port) and display (HDMI port) of my NVR unit (in the closet) over a single ethernet cable, all the way to the kitchen cabinet where the monitor is. No issue with using the mouse on the other end. Good product only hope it's a bit cheaper though. Hope this will last and will come back to comment if there is issue down the down.

This extender worked right out of the box. I added an additional wall-mounted monitor in the next room for a CCTV installation. Ran a piece of CAT 5e, plugged everything in, and it instantly worked. The monitors mirror each other, and each mouse can control the NVR. A wired USB mouse did not immediately respond, so I used a wireless one instead. Did not spend any time troubleshooting, so that may not be a fault of the extender. The transmitter and receiver are really small, so we just stuck them to the wall, and monitor, using double-sided tape.

Using for a remote KVM for a digital audio workstation (DAW). Plug and play, everything worked first try. Only complaint is that the casings have no mounting points so you'll need to macgyver something.
