Does what I need for a great price
My evaporator core sprung a leak and after getting a couple of quotes, I decided a DIY fix was in order. This manifold gauge set wasn't my first choice, the other was sold out, but in hindsight this set has 1 ft longer hoses which made the AC work much easier. I had no trouble putting it together or hooking it up, the high side slid right on without any struggle. Seals were all good and I was able to successfully vacuum test my work for 12 hours without any leakage in the system or the gauges/hoses. Recharging the system was a breeze with the can tap adapter (not included!) and I felt much better doing the recharge with the gauges versus the prior work I've done with a single low side can tap and gauge. The high side connector did indeed stick after running the system for 30 minutes while I recharged the system and the root cause is very clearly thermal expansion. If I hook up the system when the system and car are cool, it pops right off without issue. Once the car and the system heat up, the connector and hoses heat up and then it becomes more difficult. In my case, I waited 5 minutes and the quick connect released without much fuss. I'm sure there is an engineering solution to this problem, but for the price I'm ok with waiting a few minutes. It gave me an excuse to have a beer and celebrate a successful AC repair!

Great set of gauges and has 5 foot hoses.
Back many moons ago I did residential A/C and used Yellow Jacket gauges. I gave them to my son for his work and have not needed gauges until now, to work on my old car's a/c. This set of manifold gauges are just as good for a lot less money. Granted, I will use them only occasionally, not everyday. I have always hated short hoses, and this set comes with 5 foot hoses, just what I like. There is no problem with leakage, they seal fine. The high side adapter is difficult to remove unless I shut off car and wait for the pressures to equalize, which means I am fighting less pressure on the high side. My high side port is not easy to get hold of because of its location and by waiting for the pressure to decrease I can push down on the fitting enough to lift the collar. That is an adapter thing, not the gauges, which work great. Yes I would recommend these gauges to a friend.

Worked as Intended
Trying to determine AC cooling issues without one of these hoses is nearly impossible. I noticed the mixed reviews but I took a chance. The hoses worked as intended and Confirmed that my ac is low on refrigerant. I was worried about the high pressure quick connector getting stuck. When I tried to get it off, using one hand it was very difficult. The trick is use both hands - one to pull down on the red collar but the second hand grabbing below the collar and push the hose upwards. This pull and push action will give you leverage and the collar will come off. The reason that it gets stuck is due to the high pressure. It is not a defective hose. The instructions were basic with no real details on how to connect the hoses. I wish they included that. I had to look up some how to videos and figured it out myself. I also wish they charged a bit more and included the adapter for the yellow hose. They did mention not included in the description though. I was able to charge my ac using another old low pressure hose that I had connected to a r134 can already. Overall, these hoses are a cheap investment and they served its purpose. I am a diy not a pro mechanic. So I do not plan on using these all the time.

Reasonably priced manifold gauge for home use.
Used these gauges to recharge my HVAC unit with R-22 Freon refrigerant. Everything was in kit and no issues encountered. The needle for the low side blue gauge was just a tiny bit off from idle atmospheric reading not at 0 but not a big deal as you can adjust by taking the clear face cover off and gently turning the flathead adjuster. I didn’t try and just made note of it. Nice for a DIY and not as a professional.

High quality, very inexpensive
These AC gauges are of very high quality, very good feel , touch and accurate. It is amazing how inexpensive they are, bravo to both Amazon and the factory that made them!!. Come with extra accessories, including the 1/4"-5/16 flare adapter to go right into the testing port, which is thoughtful and convenient.

NO PORT TO EVACUATE AIR FROM FREON LINE
Moisture causes an AC system to leak. You pull a vacuum on the system to remove any moisture possibly in the unit. Then, the correct way to add Freon is to connect your refrigerant to use your yellow hose and through a port connected to your gauges, evacuate any air remaining in the hose until coolant starts to spray out assuring there's no moisture in the line. These gauges do not contain that valve making them unusable for refilling coolant in the state they're boxed up in. I had to go buy a $10 adapted to put between the two schrader valves at the top on the yellow to insure i did the job correctly. These will work great for diagnosing and pulling a vacuum, just not actually adding the coolant... which is the whole point. If you're looking for a complete set of usable upon opening gauges, these are not the ones. Also, the in depth guide they mention in the description only tells you there are 3 hoses to screw on the gauges, and then proceeds to explain how to check your ac system. There is not an explanation on what each adapter is and used for, there's not detailed parts list, there is not a company phone number, or even a company name. The front of the box says "brass manifold gauges' and leaves it at that. These are very cheap gauges that are only good for diagnostic purposes.

Works well but would prefer manifold with knobs for the LP and HP plug

Worked for 4 months (refrigerant lines) and the gauge -1 year until the treads on the gauge gave up and refrigerant was purging out of the red handle. Works but you'd be better with a Yellow Jacket gauge if you're gonna use the gauge alot for a long period of time.

I'd give a zero and recommend that anyone thinking about buying this don't. I bought so that if I ever needed it to fill my vehicles with refrigerant that I could and know what the high side was at as well as the low side ports and have it at the correct pressure. Well I never used it right away and when I did it seemed to have very high pressure and I could get the a/c pump to kick on. So I used the one for adding to the low side port and it was very low. Well after checking where the hoses screw on at the port they wasn't even drilled through so that Freon could flow through. It was just a solid spot where the hole supposed to be. I wasn't happy and had to drill it out myself after using one I had just for the low side. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Very poor product. And very poorly made. Don't waist your money
