Pettit EZ Poxy Polyurethane Topside Paint

I use this paint on a product that is going into production. We chose it for the colors. For its durability. And for its ease of application. The product is a small towable camper - not a boat. We have about 13,000 miles on the prototypes including on gravel roads. No, it won't protect against rock dings and it's not quite as tough as a two part spray on like automotive paint. But it's close. And we can roll it on. It leaves a nice slightly wrinkled gloss finish. Just what we were looking for.

Great product easy to use. Great results

This is a great product. I used a darker version on my transom a couple years ago and it has held up great. I actually used that same darker blue up underneath the gunwales where the sides meet the floor in the pics. I have not carpeted the boat yet in these pics. So I decided to go with Pettit for the top side. I did not use it (yet) on the outside area, only the inside like you see. Seat supports, sides, engine cover top and hood scoop. Although there is no metalflake, the finish comes out great and after a few weeks, it is pretty darn tough. It's a little soft at first but it does harden up nicely over time. You could probably add some metalflake in if you wanted. This is 2 coats with just a small amount of mineral spirits to thin. I first sanded all the surfaces with an orbital sander and cleaned it off. I rolled this on and followed immediately with a soft brush to smooth it out (roll and tip method). A VERY light hand sand next day after 1st coat, then wipe down residue, then 2nd coat. I'm pretty happy with my rookie results.

Pettit EZ Poxy is an easy to use alternative to a two part epoxy marine paint. It will not last as long as or be as durable as the two-part epoxy. It is easy to apply, Looks good upon completion and is reasonable value for the money.

Paint is easy to use and goes on even if you follow the directions. My review is based on durability, this paint looks amazing and I was very excited after I had finished my restore project at the overall look but the durability is not there. The paint scratches easily which has me already touching up the work I did a few weeks ago. Very disappointed as a lot of time was spent, I even used the enhancing product that is suppose to make the paint harder.
