Can I read these tags via my phone's NFC?

no,it's different frequency. phone nfc frequency is 13.56mhz.

What type of reader would work with this? I am looking to put in shoes and when user waves shoes over reader and it inputs id like a barcode scanner.

it can work with UHF reader. reading distance could be 1~6 meters. for the solutions,you can check with reader supplier. Thanks.

does this work with the arduino RFID reader?

This is UHF band so you need a UHF specific reader. The normal 125kHz/13.56MHz readers will not work.

They said long range, they meant it!

Running these on helmet visors for a motocross lap timing solution, racers fly by the reader doing 30+mph up to 20ft away with no issue.

Cheap price and cheap quality

These stickers work out of the box. However, after a while (couple of months) they start degrading and cant be recognized easily by the reader. Other kinds of these tags keep working after a while.

Not sure about the long term wear of the product.

Hello, I am not entirely satisfied with the quality control of these tags. 82 out of 100 tags worked. Quality control is severely lacking. Thank you.
