I needed replacement fire bricks for my wood stove, made in the USA..they came just boxed in the factory box, not in another box with any insulation to help with any damage that may occur during shipping and to my amazement all the bricks were in perfect condition..I used an angle grinder with a 4 inch diamond blade to cut the ones that needed to be fitted into place..I will buy this brand again when needed..they cut well and feel of quality...

Product as described, packed well without broken bricks. Application was rebuilding a fire box for a Stanley Waterford cook stove. They cut easily with appropriate saw blade. So far seem durable. Pricey but no problems so far.

The ivory Bricks work and offer the exact look I wanted! However, one box was completely broken. All of the boxes they came in were damaged in some fashion and falling apart, but the one box with all of the destroyed bricks looked like someone ran it over. 40$ bricks need to be packaged better.

I purchased these soap stone bricks for thermal mass in a tiny fireplace I purchased as backup heat on the porch. I am not burning logs directly in fireplace, but using a small fire pit to contain hardwood mini logs, so the configuration may change depending on the hot areas. I am also adding a cast iron grate with ceramic fire tamers in the sloped part of the chimney to go over the fire pit to break up the flames for heat distribution. Soap stone is the best type of stone for thermal mass in masonry fireplaces due to it's superior heat retention and release. It is extremely heavy, and pricey, but worth every penny. Pricing is about the same direct from Rutland shipping aside. The bricks arrived in the Rutland heavy duty cardboard box, inside a amazon box. All bricks arrived in tact and my order arrived quickly. Would buy again.

These bricks were impact tested across the US, How? the Amazonian goofs that packed the very well made Rutland box of 6 bricks in a shipping box 8 to 10 times larger than necessary with: I kid u not = ONE ! 8 ish by12 ish inch piece of brown paper and ALL 6 arrived without any cracks or chips.. Don't bother with the light weight Wanna Bee "Chin Lee junk. I will buy again as needed.

The box was a bit beat up, but all the bricks were perfect. Glad I spent a little extra for these.

Really impressed with this product, these clay firebricks have definitely improved the overall performance of our wood stove (fireplace) insert. Going on our third season with this wood stove, the porous concrete-like firebricks that were originally supplied with the unit were already in need of replacement, with one brick broken, another deeply cracked. After ordering one box and determining the Rutland bricks appeared to be much better quality, opted to replace ALL 13 firebricks. Involved some work in cutting down to size, as the existing ones were four different dimensions, (used a Dewalt angle grinder with DEWALT DW4725 masonry blade).... dusty and loud task, but worth the effort. After just a couple successive fires, we've noticed these bricks insulate much better than the old ones, and balance the fire's heat output as well, requiring less tending during a burn. The outer stove body does not get quite as hot, which should lengthen its lifespan; much larger amount of hot embers in the morning means easier restarting, less kindling and time needed to get a hot blaze going again. The fan on the stove also turns on a bit later, (I modified the manual knob with a thermo-activated one when we installed the stove) which also means the stove body doesn't heat up so quickly; more even heat distribution and a hotter blaze translates into squeezing more therms out of each stick of wood and less charred waste. HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone needing it for relining a wood stove or fireplace.

These firebricks are denser and better than the stock firebricks that came with my woodstove. Exact match for my Blaze King Princess. Great purchase

Product came as advertised, no broken bricks.Matched exactly my old bricks in my wood stove. Had to cut one, easily done with a tile saw and diamond faced blade. Highly recommend this product.

They seem better than sbi bricks , can be cut with a little more effort . We'll see if they break. Heavier , harder ones did.
