Great tool for making a great cup of tea or a small pitcher of tea
I was concerned that my XXL hands wouldn't fit into the tall and narrow glass container, making it difficult to thoroughly wash. My hand barely fits inside but it's not difficult to clean the teapot. I also bought the 12 ounce version and it's very easy to clean. I was concerned that the strainer wouldn't be fine enough to catch the small tea dust and I'd have a cloudy cup of tea with silt in the bottom of the cup. I poured the tea into a clear glass and there was no debris. The brewed tea was dark and rich, but had a wonderful clarity with no sediment and apparently no suspended particles. I had used the first teaspoon of high quality tea (Yorkshire Gold) from a new package, so there probably wasn't much of the tea dust that's found in the lower grade "floor sweepings" brands of tea, but the filter apparently works very well. I was concerned that a filter that was effective would be slow, but it only took a few seconds to pour a cup of tea. It didn't take much longer than pouring tea from a teapot without a filter. I finally broke the 12 ounce French press tea cup that I use 2-3 times per day so I just bought a replacement. I prefer to drink directly from the 12 ounce cup, so I unscrewed the stainless lid from the French press and replaced the lid with a short stainless machine screw that I use as a tiny handle stalk. I microwave the water and tea in the borosilicate glass. When steeping is finished, I push the French press an inch into the cup to filter the tea leaves and I sip the tea directly from this tea cup. I wish someone made a 12 ounce French press tea mug that didn't need to be modified. Who wants to wash two cups? I also wish the glass was thicker so it would be less fragile. The replacement 12 ounce tea mug has the etched Rishi logo. I liked it better without a logo. The design and build quality are both excellent. This is a great tool for making a great cup of tea, or a small pitcher of tea.

Great tea press
Was out to lunch and they had these. My friend and I immediately ordered one each. If you love French press this won’t disappoint!1 would make a great gift for tea lovers. Easy to use, easy to clean.

This product is far better than the reviews would indicate
This is the most unfair poorly rated item I've ever seen on Amazon. I've owned too many tea accessories over the past 30 years of my life to count, of every kind. In my family, we each make our own pot of loose leaf tea in the morning, and again later in the day. For years now (since I first saw these in a tea shop) I've been using these at least twice a day for several family members. So I keep 5 of these in the cupboard. They are the size of a large mug, so they are easiest to serve one person. They are ideal for loose leaf tea, compared to any other pot, because they allow tea to fill all the space (unlike an insert, which reduces the space in which tea leaves can expand and diffuse). The pot is beautiful only because it is a simple glass vessel and allows you to watch your tea leaves and floral or herb tisanes to expand. Pouring is idea. The filters prevent even the finely ground debris of Irish Breakfast tea to be held back. When we are done, removing the cover allows the entire mass of tea to be easily pulled out (as compared to a narrower necked teapot). It takes 10 seconds. I always dump my tea in the garden beds or my compost pile, because it's good for the garden. It's perhaps not the prettiest teapot out there. But it's the most beautiful for the function it offers. They age well and I've never had one break. But I do wish the stainless steel and its mesh and spring edge were shinier over the years of use. Really, a minor complaint for what has turned out to be the best tea accessory I have ever purchased in my life. I see people here comparing this pot to a French press. But that's like expecting a spoon to function as a fork. The product design is intended for a different function. And I do not like what a French press does to tea: compressing it to extract more bitter compounds. For tea, this is precisely what's needed to make a great cup. I suppose the only addition I would give it is an insulated sleeve to keep the tea at its hottest for steeping, since glass is a heat conductor. But I've not seen a teapot offering that.

Perfect Teapot For Loose Leaf Teas
I was looking for an option for loose leaf tea that did not restrict me like those little tea ball chambers that sometimes open up and ruin the tea. I saw this and thought that it was very similar to a french press for coffee. Since I was already familiar with the effectiveness of a french press I thought that I would give it a try. The teapot arrived well packaged and ready to use. It is a simple two piece system. There is the borosilicate “jar” part and the lid with the built in strainer. The whole thing is very light and easy to use but strong and well built. It can be a little tight when putting the lid on but you want that to ensure no little particles get in your cup of tea. I have a large loose leaf tea collection and often blend different types so this device really helps with that. Just add your tea of choice, hot water and place the lid on. Wait as long as your tea needs to steep and simply pour into your tea cup over some honey or whatever you prefer if you sweeten your tea. Materials are glass and stainless steel so there should be no issues with rust or corrosion. The tea pot has a pouring lip so it fill a cup without any spillage. I gifted one of these to my son and he absolutely loves how easy it makes brewing loose leaf teas. Over all it is a well built little teapot that will provide years of value to your tea drinking enjoyment. Not one bit of tea leaves has made it in to my cup so far.

I’ve been using this daily for my raspberry leaf tea
This has been very good for my raspberry leaf tea! I will brew it early in the morning and let it sit all day so it is strong. It is to help with pregnancy. If I used it within the recommended time it would stay hot, but of course I would prefer to drink it as an iced coffee. There is no plastic, which I very much appreciated, no issue with leakage, easy to pour, the lid sales great so I never have issues with the looseleaf tea getting into my drink. It is very durable very easy to wash and I highly recommend.

Fabulous for making loose leaf tea. Much better than the tea egg or filtering spoons I have used in the past. Size is perfect for a large mug of tea. Love it. I actually bought two of them!
