Great for crafting
These Tyvek sheets are great for crafting! I needed to create "hinges" for a scrapbook I made. The Tyvek sheets worked great for this purpose. Just what I needed!!

Perfect!
Like another reviewer here, I used these as part of a gas exchange system for my jars of liquid culture, and will later use them to allow for fresh air exchange of grainspawn. They smelled a bit hot when I took the hars out of the pressure cooker, but they held up and were very easily pierced by the inoculation needle. Popped a bit of micropore tape over it and now 2 days in my spores are already germinating and mycelial hyphae is floating around in the honey water! Very satisfied. Protip: only fill your LC jars a bit over half-way full if you don't have a magnetic stirrer. You need the extra splash buffer room if you're going to be agitating them by hand (moving the jars in a circle or something, not opening them and sticking a spoon in there).

Art Collage Ready But Wrinkled
My artist friend in Portland Oregon taught me how to use Dupont Tyvek sheets by first painting with acrylics and then cutting the sheets into shapes for art collage. This superior medium soaks paint beautifully, cuts smoothly, retains durability, and is easy to store. I love the how the texture of the sheets adds dimension to the finished art pieces. The pieces were wrinkled in transport - hence four stars, though the original product was pristine and the wrinkles softened when painted.

good for origami
i wanted to create a more durable piece of origami art that would tolerate being wired with small LEDs and i considered paper too ephemeral and too much of a fire hazard. i tried various weights of tyvek and found the 55gsm weight to be the right thickness and texture and also crisp enough to fold. to get the folds to stay in place i needed to crimp them hard with a metal edge, my thumbnail was not enough. i dyed the tyvek with alcohol ink and let it dry thoroughly. some of the ink rubbed off onto my fingers while i was folding so i wouldn't use this on something that will get touched a lot. the tyvek fibers make interesting patterns when light shines through. this can also be partially controlled by the density of the ink applied. as the tyvek does like to relax more than traditional wood pulp or mulberry pulp paper i glued some of the critical joins for permanence after folding. 43gsm tyvek is too light and soft. 105gsm tyvek is good for boxes or things with less intricate folds. more like a light paperboard weight. the 55gsm was just about perfect. it can be a bit tricky to cut precisely as it wants to slip away from the blade. i also do micro origami and have found that the smallest model i can fold in this weight ends up about 1" long. anything smaller and the tyvek won't stay folded and it's too slippery to manipulate accurately.

Great Product
Tyvek is essential for any paper crafter making mini-albums and large albums. I use it to firmly hold the chipboard book covers to the spine and for other sections of the album that get extra 'wear and tear'. I like that it comes in single sheets and I no longer have to cut up postal-type mailing envelopes. Tyvek gives my albums that added assurance of strength and durability.

Great use with kids who are destructive with paper products!
Perfect alternative to use with students who tend to rip or tear assignments up. We got this for a student who has explosive behaviors and very low frustration tolerance. He often rips, tears up or destroys assignments that are on paper, which means we have to print out sometimes dozens of copies of one assignment before we can get through the entire thing with it remaining in one piece. Someone recommended trying Tyvek with these types of students because it can't be torn or ripped or destroyed by normal methods. This has worked out great!! I love that these come in worksheet-sized pieces so they are ready to go.

Used for Crafts
I have seen other crafters use Tyvek for bookmaking. I place it between the cardstock and the chip board to avoid the cardstock from tearing at the bending points. It adds more stability.

Definitely not for inkjet printing
I bought this seeing mixed reviews about printing quality on Inkjet. My Epson inkjet printer uses pigment-based ink, so the colors didn’t really bleed all too much, unless printing in very high-quality mode, where the ink definitely start to bleed along the fibers - black seemed to be the most affected by this. The main issue is that the printed colors fade and become quite dull within minutes, so if you’re expecting anything vibrant this won’t do it. But otherwise it’s tyvek, just don’t expect any high-quality prints on this with inkjet.
