Spigen Rugged Armor Designed for Pixel 5 Case (2020) - Matte Black

I have not yet tested this case with a serious bump, nor do I intend to. However, it has performed flawlessly thus far with small falls and bumps from a couple of feet onto hard surfaces like laminate flooring. It adds little bulk to the phone and is visually interesting. The texturing on the edges makes it easy to grip, and the case itself has some texturing that resists movement when the phone is resting on a hard surface. Even so, it slides easily in and out of my pockets. I have a screen protector on my phone, and the front is raised just enough to keep the screen with the protector out of contact when the phone is resting on its face on a table. That being said, if you dropped the phone on its face on an uneven surface, it might take some damage.Overall, a very good, reasonably priced case that provides a medium level protection without adding bulk to the phone.

Spigen nailed it yet again. I've had Spigen cases on my last 3 phones (Pixel 2, iPhone 11, and Galaxy Note 10) and have yet to have any issues with damage from drops. Actually got mad and yeeted one of those at a wall and the only thing damaged was the screen (Young, stupid, and angry). This one is exactly what I needed for my Pixel 5. Low profile and wireless charger compatible, grippy to where it won't slide around in my hand, and stylish.The texture on the body of the case is, in my opinion, perfect for damp and dry conditions with just the right amount of texture. The stylish inserts at the top and bottom are very well done and, while most likely not actually carbon fiber, have a good feel. They definitely aren't some cheap insert that's going to come unglued on you after a few weeks and feel to be molded into the actual case material.All in all, 6/5 and I'm pretty sure Spigen has officially earned brand loyalty from me.

Works great. Buttons are a little hard to press through it though.dropped my phone more than a few times and didn't get a single ding or dent on it. Make sure you get the protective glass for it as well.

I've had this phone case since February 2021 and it has been fantastic. It has survived multiple falls/drops and has protected my phone time and time again. Only recently it has started showing signs of age (April 2025). A section of the edge of the case where the side meets the back has separated but the other 95% of the case is still together. If I had to give the phone case any cons it would be that dirt gets trapped behind it so if you remove the case, you'll need to clean behind both it and the back of the phone itself.

For every phone I get, and I upgrade about once a year, I pick up a Spigen Rugged Armor. I generally buy several cases to switch up the feel and aesthetics, but the Rugged Armor is one I get every time, as this is just consistently a great case that balances good drop protection with relatively minimal bulk. It's a fairly basic TPU case that has the corner air cushions, a good front lip, precise cutouts, and a good looking design that minimizes fingerprints. Button coverage maintains good tactility.I've dropped my phones in Rugged Armors on several occasions over the years and have never had any damage in a fall. Each model for each phone they design these for are only minimally changed every year to fit the specific phone model, and that's because there's nothing much to change. They are consistently high quality, protective and reasonably slim.

Spigen has well-made cases. The plastic is sturdy yet not too stiff where it interferes with the side buttons. I ordered another case from another seller that was not Spigen brand and I am returning it. It is a bright red color but the plastic around the buttons is so stiff that it requires two hands to put the phone to sleep or turn up/down the volume. If my hands are full, I really need to be able to access these buttons with one hand. I just wish Spigen made other colors other than just black or a dark color. Since I've had my case, my spouse and I have taken each others' phones by mistake. He has an iphone 8 and I have the Pixel 5, the screens and the butt end of the phone look very similar at first glance. So if Spigen made some 'girly' colors that would be great, that way I can keep my phone identifiable at a distance. SPIGEN, MAKE SOME BRIGHT COLORS :) I won't spend 40.00 on a Pixel case from Google store when a Spigen case works the same at a more reasonable price.

My pixel 5 cellphone case fit just perfect. I would recommend it and what a great price.
