Exactly what I needed for my doorbell
My old doorbell stopped working because of corrosion after years of being exposed to the elements. I replaced the doorbell but also needed a new diode. The FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR 1N4003 DIODE worked as advertised and allows my doorbell to finish its tune after I release the button.

Values are Consistant
I ordered the 5 pack Fairchild IN4003 diodes to have as a spare replacement part for the OEM diode in my Class B Solis Pocket 36A Camper Van for the House Battery 12VDC charging solenoid coil. The measured values of the Fairchild diodes (5 pack) were pretty close to the original OEM diode reverse polarity megohms (+/- 2.5MEGOHM) and reverse polarity voltage drop (0.55 volts). I made a diode assembly with a terminal block, leads, crimp connectors, and heat shrink so as to be able to quickly replace on the road if the original diode fails. I used liquid rubber to encapsulate and waterproof the diode assembly.

Friend had a doorbell that would not function properly after he replaced it. Chimes need a diode even though they don't come in most replacement kits. Worked like a charm.

Make sure it is the right one
We thought we needed a new diode for our chiming doorbell. My husband called the manufacturer to get the part number to order the correct one since the number was hard to read on the original. We ordered the one that she insisted was correct even though the original was a different number. The service person from the manufacturer was wrong.
