JCL Vise Jaws - Nylon, Multipurpose 4" - Use on any Metal Vise, Magnetic Reversible Pads, Clamp Flat or Round Products

These are nice and stick to my vice better than my last pair. My last pair had the magnets out of phase and they jumped off when you closed the vice jaws. I put up with those for far too long. Thse are nice and there is a cut out for holding round barstock or a bolt or a rod. They stay where I put them and they dont scratch things up when I work on bicycle parts. I recommend these...a good value and they work like they should.

These are the perfect size for your vise, great magnetic strength, very durable, great grip, and a great value. Not stiff, and not soft making it the perfect piece for your delicate pieces that you need to put into the vise. It is very versatile. Pretty durable will definitely last a long time.

Very nice. The flat sides of the jaws extend down far enough to be useful for woodworking. The magnets are strong enough to hold the unit in place without slippage, but not so strong as to pull out of the plastic and need to be glued back in (a problem I experienced with another brand.). This product functions “as expected”.

I bought these because I needed a way to hold items tight with my vise, while making sure the items won’t get scratches or blemishes. Using two pieces of wood can sometimes get the job done, but we all know is not effective 100% of the time. So, along cake these cool nylon jaws. I am very impressed about the design and functionality of these. First, the material is a solid nylon that will not scratch the finish or coating of on surfaces. I used it to tighten a barrel, punch, and drill for a gas block, all that time, the barrel was secured with these jaws... the barrel finish remained intact without a single scratch. The jaws have four magnets, pretty strong, and they attach well to the vise. These jaws can be used two ways, there are two flat and grooved sides. This helped me position the item in angles while maintaining a secure grip. I should have purchased these long time ago. If you like building or maintaining sporting equipment, you can’t go wrong with these. I am very happy with this purchase.

Ok, I've had these jaws for a week or two now but just now got around to using them for the first time. I have both of the smaller Harbor Freight vices. One is the smallest bench top one they sell, the other is the larger of the ones that can clamp to a bench and rotates 360 in each direction. These jaws fit nicely on both. The jaws are very well made, and there are two magnets on each jaw that allow you to position them either way. The magnets are great, it keeps the jaws in place and sure beats trying to hold squares of rubber against the jaws like I used to do! The jaws are a tough nylon and I don't see them every wearing out. I used them this time to do a trigger job on a Marlin 795 rifle. One part involves putting the hammer spring back in, which is under a great amount of tension. The piece didn't budge and was held perfectly by the jaws. Everything I used before allowed the piece to move a small amount and made the job much harder. Definitely try these out, I wish I wouldn't have waited so long to get a pair!

Every tool buyer knows this dilemma: are these similar-looking tools really the same? Do they come out of the same Chinese factory and just carry different branding at different price points? Or are they really different? There are dozens of vinyl vise jaw pads on Amazon, some from brands you have heard of, many not. I wasn't certain these were any different but they had markedly better reviews so I took a chance and paid the minor price premium. I am very glad I did. Somehow I missed it in the product description, but these are made in Australia - not China. They are not the same pads as the cheaper ones, even though they look very similar. The quality and density of the vinyl is excellent, the finishing very good. They have magnets on both sides of each pad - not just one. And so far, they seem well-adhered. For those looking for good quality 4" vise jaw pads at a reasonable price, I think this is it. For those looking for even higher quality or materials besides vinyl (like polyurethane), Frictionworks looks excellent and is made in the USA - but for 2/3 more money. These JCL will work great for me.

Does what it’s supposed to do and does it well. The magnets are not super strong but keep the jaws in place while you clamp down some material.

These soft jaws are made of hard nylon plastic. Some soft jaws are compliant rubber, these are not that type of soft jaw. Just keep that in mind when ordering. Also they have two sets of magnets on the horizontal as well as vertical faces that mate to the vise. That's a nice feature that holds the soft jaws in place very well.

These are quite handy and generally work ok. They do have a tendency to tilt a bit. Only used them a few times, but generally happy with them.

It’s able to hold my gun, the barrel or chassis without damage. Great product.

Heavy duty and the magnets work really well. Very easily reversed. I like the two different faces. One for pipes and odd shapes. The other side is dead flat. These protectors stay in place and are easily removed. The jaws have two sets of magnets which really locks them into place. More importantly, they do not move around once set in place. A little pricy but I would purchase again.
