Big Rock

This book had been all over my news feed on Goodreads and let's be honest ... the cover caught my attention. Guys aren't the only ones that appreciate a pretty hot body. Dude. He's hot. Whew. Anyway, so of course, I needed to jump on this bandwagon and see what everyone was talking about. It was better than I ever could have imagined. The main character, Spencer, is cocky and conceited and so damn crass. I ... LOVED IT. I found his inappropriateness to be hilarious and honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if most guys felt the way that Spencer does. There are a lot of readers that were completely turned off by how this main character behaved. Some called him a douchebag (which he is), some said he was fake (I didn't get that one at all), some said the book was horrible and had no plot (these people are obviously dead inside). Here's the deal ... they're all right. How people feel about a book can be totally different from one person to the next. And that's okay. If you are easily offended, this is not the book for you. This dude talks about his junk like it should be knighted and maybe have a monument dedicated to it. If you don't mind the occasional f-bomb and a guy waxing poetic about his manly playground, then you should give this book a shot. I was really surprised by the humor! I was rolling as I read this book. Not literally but it could have happened because I read this in one sitting without getting up and my legs kept falling asleep. I just loved everything about how Spencer behaved and how Charlotte reacted to him. Charlotte was absolutely awesome. I loved her. The chemistry between these two was exciting to experience and I really wish that this was part of a series about them because I couldn't get enough of their back and forth. Plus ... Spencer. Le sigh. You know how things are so ugly that they begin to look cute? Spencer was such a cocky bastard that he started to look like a sweet guy with a potty mouth that was misunderstood. Basically, the story kept me entertained. I loved every single word of this book and I can't wait to see what else Lauren Blakely has up her sleeve. I hope it's another book written from a male POV because she is a total badass at it. Love!! It will be a long time before I forget about it so I can read it again.

Where to begin???? I have to say this my friend is the best book of the year and my absolute most favorite book by Lauren Blakely. I also have to admit from the beginning when I first heard about this book and that she wrote it from Spencer's POV...that I was a little skeptical because some would say a woman can't write from a man's POV...but my friend Lauren Blakely blew everyone out of the water by doing just this. The way she gave us the blunt non filter version was spot on. Spencer and Charlotte are PERFECT together. At the beginning of this book it goes on how they are best friends who are joint owners of a bar and that they are extremely close and would do absolutely anything for each other. This book gives you a true insight of just that. Charlotte coming to his rescue in this book showed just how much she really cared for him when they neither one wanted to admit their feelings went beyond friendship. Their motto was that they would do this "relationship/engagement" for one week no strings attached, no weirdness etc and would return back to being friends.....but what they didn't realize was that this would bring out things they neither one could imagine and got more than just being best friends out of the deal. Lauren was spot on with their chemistry and all the fun, sexy, sweet, and crazy things made this book a top 2016 read and it's just January. Lauren you are absolutely an incredible writer and this just shows that you have so much to offer us readers by giving us both a woman's POV and a man's and make it incredibly interesting and on the edge of your seat .......A MUST READ!!!!

4 "I'm going to seduce you." Stars Big Rock was exactly the kind of story I needed to read. A light, fun, best-friends-to-lovers romance told from the hero's hilarious point of view. Excellently written by Lauren Blakely, Big Rock serves as a hot, contemporary that reads quite fast. It's not hard to become absorbed in the story of Spencer Holiday and his best friend Charlotte. When the two need each other sparks fly and deeper feelings root themselves into their hearts. Spencer Holiday with absolutely seduce you with his looks, wit, and somewhat goofy antics roll all of those up and couple it with his romantic side and he's downright charming. It was a pleasant change to have Spencer not be an uber alpha but rather a fun-loving, witty, light guy. And Charlotte's humor and grace were exceptionally well-suited for him. She's only prone to utmost honesty and throughout the book her vulnerability turns to an admirable strength. The two of them together was a pleasure to read. I was looking for something light the day this book released and got exactly what I was looking for - this is a perfect lazy Sunday or beach read that I highly recommend

He asks her to pretend to be his fiancee in order to mask his whoring ways and show he is the man he thinks his dad needs him to be. Turns out pretend can move to reality before you even know whats happening. I loved this book dirty talking Spencer is so hott!!! I mean how can you not love a guy that says "Moving on to looks. Lets just be honest. Some dicks are just motherf****** ugly. I wont get into all the reasons why. You know what they are, and when it comes to my best asset, all I want you thinking about are those words: long, thick, smooth, hard. If the Renaissance masters were carving sculptures of cocks, mine would be the model for all of them." I mean come on what else is there to say. The dynamic of these too are amazing they truly are first and foremost bff's. Then finally it hits like a Mack Truck when he realizes his actual feelings and typical man he mucks it up a little, but with a mouth like his you know he can get back on track with just a few dirty filthy lines. LOL Cant wait for the next one amazing story!!! Loved it!!

this book was a good read although predictible something to read when coming off a more complex series writing was easy to read good scenes a lit light on depth but over all not a bad read for something light

Charlotte and Spencer are best friends, business partners and it turns out they may be something much more...but don't tell them...let's let them figure their relationship out themselves. This way it is way more fun for us, especially when Lauren Blakely is driving this crazy love bus!!!! How can you not adore a story where playboy, Spencer Holiday, introduces us to his love for his large centerpiece and his expert ability to use it before we even reach chapter one. "My dick is f@*king awesome." First line...I kid you not!! Spencer does not disappoint. He is funny, sexy and comes from a very special family, whom he loves very much. For that reason, and also to be rid of a jerk of an ex , Charlotte agrees to a pretend engagement to him. These two best friends take us on quite a hilarious and sexy ride from being "punch in the arm buddies" to "I cant have enough of your body on my body" buddies. "Any man who is friends with a woman has taken the old imagination out for a stroll to Kissing Avenue, then Lover's Lane, then F#*king Street." The question is what happens when all the pretending is over. What happens when they have to go back to being best buds?? Was faking it all they really needed to realize they aren't faking it at all?? Is Spencer's sexual prowess all he claims it to be?? Charlotte seems to love his big ....rock!! Lauren Blakely has it completely correct ...Happy wife equals happy life and this book made me completely happy . Bring on Mr. Orgasm.......what?? ..... read Big Rock for explanation!!

I love friends to lovers stories, and Big Rock was a fun, sexy read. Spencer and Charlotte have the kind of friendship that we all would love to have. Best friends who work together, know each other better than anyone else and have fun together. I really enjoyed reading the story from just Spencer's POV, even though I usually prefer dual POV. It made the story less angsty and flow quickly. I am a fan of Lauren's work, so I was excited for the humor and high heat levels that I have enjoyed in her previous books. I was not disappointed. I laughed a lot and had to fan myself many times over. These two had great chemistry and were perfect for each other. Lots of great characters to maybe see in the future as well.

I thought this book was so boring. I usually go by the reviews and figured, with 5 star ratings this was a must read. I was wrong, I should have read some of the other comments! I was so disappointed. When I purchase a book I'm always committed to giving it a chance with the hopes it will pick up. It didn't. I'll admit, the male in the story, I thought was going to be a jerk was actually a nice guy and I love friends becoming lovers. The story however dragged on and on and there was just nothing there to reel me in. It took me so long to finish it and I had to force myself. Sorry, but this was just not a page turner for me:-(
