Top 10 Cape Town and the Winelands (Eyewitness Top 10 Travel Guide)

This little gem went everywhere with us as we visited Cape Town, South Africa. It's small size fit easily in my purse. It was a great guide for getting around and choosing our areas not to miss. Love ALL the Top 10 Eyewitness Guide Books for cities they all less clumsy to carry and have enough info to make our holiday a memorable one.

First off - Cape Town is an amazing city and I highly recommend it. It's pocket sized, has good maps and will help you optimize your time in Cape Town. The DK Eyewitness Top 10 books have been my friends on 6 continents and has helped me make the best use of my limited time and ensure I see and do amazing things. Like all travel books, make sure you double check on the web before you head out. But a fantastic book!

Great easy to carry book on the best sites in Cape Town and the winelands. The pictures are wonderful, good maps of the area...wish there had been a full map of Africa available as we traveled to Cape Town from other areas. The info was condensed and to the point.

I went to Cape Town in December and used this guide. It was wonderful. It had excellent guidance on the best things to do and had great suggestions on places to eat. A must have for any trip to Cape Town.

Great overview of Cape Town --- just wish I'd have purchased it a bit sooner than I did as I didn't have time to absorb the entire book before leaving on my trip! Purchase early and do your homework!

We carried this little book *everywhere* in Western Cape, it's a great size to use as a go-to addition to some of the larger travel guides that you may not want to tote all over the place.

We purchase a lot of eyewitness travel books before going out of the country, however this one was a little disappointing. The layout of it is very bad. It seems like you are constantly flipping around to find what you are looking for because they don't really have it organized well. For instance, in the winelands they didn't have a single section for the best winelands. You'd have to flip to different top 10 lists around the book to try to find good wineries to go to. Then you come back to the book the next day and finding a winery that you found the day before would be confusing. Does that make sense? I hope not - because that's how you'll feel if you order this travel guide.

This is an OK guide for sights for those who are not used to the city. The maps aren't that detailed though. Most "M" type roads are not shown in the maps for large areas of the city. At first I tried to depend on this and had some troubles. I ended up buying a book of maps at the Kirstenbosch gift shop that worked a lot better.

I really like Eyewitness guide books. I used the e-reader version which isn't as convenient as the "book" version but easy to "carry". I like the easy layout and get to the point information.

Book came as described and on time. I love these little books as quick reference for a city with nice fold out maps included.

This is an excellent in detail synopsis of al things to do in the Cape area. Well done. Most larger books don't have this detail.
